which is better out of the three??

-An EF civic

-A DA Integgy

or

-A EG civic hatch

???

Im looking for another car, since GM has been nothing but a PITA so far... ..
And ive decided that i want one of these three cars, and will be later on swapping a B series into the one i get and turbo-ing the crap out of it. So, since all the cars can fit the motor that i want.....which one do yall think is best???

haha it depends.

WHen it comes to modifications, the EG hatch by far. Its OBD1, any B series swap is bolt in, etc etc etc

EF is OBD0 an takes alot more to swap
DA is ok, just heavy, and has some of the problems EFs have like big front crossmembers, OBD0 (some years)

Why didn't you make this a pole?

What does a pole have to do with anything and why would it generate more responses? Later, QD.

eg hatch all day..

Yes, but everyone and their relatives have those cars. And they don't look near as good as the EFs. I agree with the DA comment. Later, QD.

Under your avatar, it states that you:

"want a faster car"

Why would you want a Civic? Later, QD.

I hate the 2001 body style. but thats just my opinion. the 2005 body styles are my favorite. I love the grey colored ones. Even the newer hatch si's would be interesting to get:goodjob:

I like the way the EF hatches look. They're fun little cars. Good luck with the car search bro. What's the GM been up to?

I've owned three EFs (two hatches, one wagon) and three EGs (two hatches, one 4 door) and IMO overall the EGs are better to buy if you plan on swapping and modifying it.

EGs are already OBD1, don't need mount kits, are generally in better shape due to less age/mileage, and have even more aftermarket support chassis wise than the EF, which has a lot too. Also most EFs will be **** dual point injection, which only adds to the wiring headaches.

I won't even get into looks since that's subjective.

I've currently got a swapped EE Wagon (pretty much an EF, exact same engine bay) and a swapped EH2 (92 CX hatch) and again the swaps and such are way easier in the 92-95.

 The thing took a SH** on me yesterday and shut off as soon as i got to school. then when i got out of school the thing still wouldnt turn on, and i had to have it towed to my mechanic. Turns out, two of my ECU wires were dragging on the ground and they got ripped off. I still want a civic though, b/c of its potential. Plus, im looking around for a standalone unit for my Cavi, but the search has been kinda fruitless. If i find a fairly good standalone or piggyback unit for my car, then ill keep it. If i dont find one, then its good bye GM, HELLOOO Honda!

Go with the eg or da .... ef are getting kinda old to me, cause everyone is getting one now, but on the other hand da's are really nice. Eg is a really nice car, alot of people have them, but thats a car that I could never get tired of seeing....... Between the da and eg, which ever one is the cheapest.

Interesting is right. They're fat, and expensive to modify. On a side note, I DO miss the 'rally style' shifter. It was super comfy and the seats were nice.

A few more things about the EF/DA vs. the EG chassis:

1. Unless you get an 88 or early 89 EF chassis with the seatbelts in the car, not the doors, the EG chassis can be lighter. Compare a 1990-1991 Civic STD to 1992-1993 EG CX/VX and the EG will be lighter. Now CRX HF? Well that's no contest if you get an early 88/89 one - they're stupid light.

2. If you want a track car it's very hard to get enough negative camber up front, and you can't run as low of an offset/wide enough wheel/tire as you can with an EG, unless you add fender flares

i'd rather get an eg hatch before i get any other honda/acura car. they are light, obd1, and hydralic tranny.
