Today i unpacked and received an engine from Golden Eagle for a customers Del Sol we are building.

While this is not news to me, i just wanted to show NOOBs what a "built engine" should come with, and what it looks like.

Golden Eagle 84mm/89mm
Arias Pistons
Eagle Rods

You might be wondering "so what, its an engine".

Well this is what every engine comes with from Golden Eagle:

It comes with a detailed spec sheet on ring gap, bearing clearances, what its been balanced too, weights, what oil to run, etc.

So all you guys planning on doing a "built engine" , this is how you do it RIGHT. Every machine shop or engine builder should provide you with this kind of information otherwise you are taking a chance on ruining thousands of dollars in parts.

I highly recommend buying from Golden Eagle , fully assembled and machined shortblocks, sleeves, rods, and pistons starting at $3000.

>_< Used to working on big dumb gm v8s. those looked like coolant passages, not head stud holes, too big. I feel dumb now. :lmfao:

Very nice of course, but 90% of that information is stuff that should be measured with any rebuild / build

Mike, how come I never received that sheet for my LS block? Does that mean mine isn't legit or what ..

Yours didnt come from Golden Eagle, it came from DFE, and i know what Don builds all his motors too. Some people dont release that info ;) But thats the reason yours has lasted 3 years, 200-300whp

My point is to show what people SHOULD measure and do when assembling or building ANY ENGINE.

90% of the people on this board talk about their BUILT engines and cant even tell me 1/4 of what these numbers are in their own engines

Do i win a prize if i can explain all of them? lol. But yes you are right, but a majority of people on this board are truly clueless.

Its just crazy to see people talk about having sleeved and built engines from "joe schmoe" and when i ask what ring gap they used or what compression the engine is most of them give me blank stares.

Very nice! Yeah...I "built" my engine although I can't remember the ring gaps...I know filing rings sucks though LOL. Alot of guys think bolting on a header and a AEM intake makes their engine built. I see it all the time

hey Mike, it's Pat, I got this infiniti v8 taken apart in my garage. What's the estimated cost of rebuilding it (hot tanked, street port + polished, valve job, new bearings, what else would I need?) Oh, accidently stripped the camshaft bolts for good measure.

to be boosted? With that ring gap, I'd say a bunch is anticipated.

Ha, true huh. I love Don then .. because I've put my motor through some abuse at the track/streets while racing & my motor is still running strong. Only thing that keeps breaking is the tranny.

I got my Golden Eagle block a few months ago. It took them about 2 1/2 months to do, but it was worth the wait! That thing looked bad ace, big ole' thick sleeves and that awesome milling job on the deck. I don't know whether or not they used a cnc, but it looks they did.
Golden Eagle sleeved blocks....FTW!
