The only decent thing I have heard from Gude products is their SOHC Vtec package which actually makes power. Their NEON package actually produces less power than a stock car. This has been dynoed over the years on many many different NEONS. His customer service sucks as well and so does he, rude bastard.

the d16y8 head is what i was going to get. but i think i am just going to stick a whole y8 motor in my car and port and polish the head and put a cam skunk2 cam gear. with a p28 ECU and then turbo. i hav bee told that will put me at about 230hp.

honestly, for power and durability /over performance, if you have the cash get Toda. Build a bulletproof bottom end and let Vteckidd build a GSXR ITB set up for you and use nos =P Probably cheaper than turbo'ing.

you need more then just a turbo to "turbo" a car correctly :)

the old phrase of YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR is nessecary here.

We build in house turbo kits , and ill tell you right now, FOR QUALITY parts you CANNOT build a kit for $500-600

the TURBO will cost that much.

GOOD BLOW OFF VALVE-$180
GOOD WASTEGATE-$70-150
GOOD TURBO-$350-550
GOOD FRONT MOUNT INTERCOOLER AND PIPING-$300-350
Injectors DSM-$80
Turbo manifold-$100 for shit, $250-500 for something decent
What are you doign for tuning? that cost money.

In the end a Decent 7-9psi turbo setup is $1500 if you do all the work yourself.

what you need to do is SET A BUDGET and tell me what you have to work with, so we can decide on the best route to go.

Well, at first I was going for a full b18 swap, then I decided that I could build my D series and get good enough power by building it. I am only looking to get a little over 200WHP.

Well I was going to do a mini me but I got to looking around and asking questions at different shops and I cam across a whole D16y8 (I have a y7). The guy there told me that he would do the full swap with a p28 ECU for around 1100.

in saying that it was only 1100, that is a great price. (knowing that I’m in the Marines it takes a little longer to save money) as of now I have only around 700, not much but it was is only going to take a few weeks for me to come up with the 400.

On the y8 I was planning on doing some minor head work and computer work and using the intake manifold, pulleys and exhaust I already have then soon after doing a turbo.

Well I am on a tight budget for now so I am really just trying to get the most for my buck. Like I said all I am trying to get is a little over 200WHP. If you have a better idea/way for me to get the HP, shoot, let me know it would be great!

thanks,

i still think my idea is best and the most original... +1 for me! j/k...

Seriously tho, for a decent turbo set up, spending 700 bucks isnt smart. BTw in those ssautochrome turbo kits, theres no intercooler piping, ecu, injectors, BoV and all that good stuff thats essential. The best bang for your buck should still use the "quality over quantity" mind frame. If i was gonna buy an intake, sure i could spend 20 bucks on Ebay and get a short ram intake that adds maybe 1-3hp? or i could spend like 200 or so and gets a password:jdm and make like 10-15hp (i think thats correct). I mean if you wanna buy a whole turbo kit you could just buy the edelbrock kit.

**EDIT**
Oh and 1100 for a full y8 swap isnt really that good of a price.
