im looking to buy an e30, the one i am looking at is a 1990 it has 55,000 original miles, female owned. what are the pros and cons of these cars for those who own one.

It's not really a straight line car with the stock M20 imo. But they are great none-the-less. You can make a really great boost ready car using OEM parts. :goodjob:

no its auto and the car is in a secret place, im not knew to bimmers just dont know much about e30's

With a '90 model do not forget that it is 18 yrs old; therefore, a lot of basic maintenance items are going to need to be taken care of. Coolant hoses, fuel lines, rubber brake lines, vacuum lines, and such tend to like to dry rot by this time and need replacing. Not very expensive, but annoying when you have to keep finding the leaking line. On the positive side of things, the M20 is a simple motor to work on. It has no frills or thrills, making all maintenance procedures straight forward. (much like a non vtec sohc D16) Parts can be found cheap and there are plenty of knowledgeable locals that are willing to give advise on almost any question that you come up with.

if your looking for one he has another one sitting at his shop, that needs some cosmetic work done o it, idk the miiles on it but its a 5 speed and he just changed the clutch and timeing chain on it, ill ask him how much he will take and let u know
