made a mistake tapping oil pan(pics)

so..i was just looking at my oil pan..and i just realized i tapped the hole almost right underneath a bolt hole..:no: so what are the chances of it leaking if i leave that bolt off right there but put a lil extra sealent on it?
heres a pic,i got to trim the lip off a little bit to fit the huge fitting,and yes JB weld FTL,the welder burnt straight thru the weak pan.:blah:

what do yall think? if i cut it out and move it,ill need to refil the original hole somehow..-yes this is a spar oilpan i bought just incase i messed up.haha

i might be able to get a nut up there and bolt it down just with an open ended,but cant get a full bolt in there.(i know the pan switches from bolts to just nuts at some spots)

i dont think it would leak with just that one bolt out, but i would try to get one in there. will a an fitting even fit if you trim the lip off

ya the fitting should fit its going to be really close tho.like almost hitting it.as it spins around.

I would try to get that bolt in there. Oil pans are picky.

i talked to a guy in service at my work.and he said one bolt shouldn't make a difference since theres so many in there.

one bolt in my oil pan made a big diff...leaked like crazy... got a new one and welp it quit.....mine was an LS so I dnt know what you got.. but with me it made it a difference.

i wouldn't really be worried about it leaking from that one bolt, you should be more concerned about that jb weld .

its jb on both sides.not too too worried.iv heard differnt things from people.some love it some hate it.i started welding it but it burnt straigt through.

you should put the bolt in first and the place the oil pan up there and tighten it first with a wrench and it should work

if you know you can tighten it, just trim the bolt to where it will fit in there, just dont tighten it as much because it will be more likely to rip the threads out the block. OR, i dont see it causing any problems ide ask around though. just extend the hole in the oil pan that the bolt goes in to the left about 1/4 of an inch, so it turns into more of a slot, then you can put the whole bolt through without it hitting the plug then slide it over and tighten it. if your lucky it will just be a nut that goes on there, will be easier, but either way i dont see tightening it be easy at all.

oh and the jb weld, liek the other guy said you should be more worried about that! i hope thats not the only thing holding it in! everytime you tighten/loosen it, its going to slowly break it loose. ive had bad experiences with JB weld, maybe you will be more lucky.

JB weld has worked wonders for me on my bike...

been at a stunt show, busted my stator cover, laid it over on the side, cleaned it with paint thinner, 5min jb weld...after 15 mins I was back up on one....

It has a few small weld tacks in it holding it,inplace so i finished it with JB.But like i said it burnt straight through on a spot,so i stopped and only tacked it in like 2 places.
