anyway, im hoping to run 10psi (4g94's pretty much blow after 13) i should have it all finished up in the next week or so and im lookin for a place to get my ecu flashed. i live in kennesaw, but anything in the Atlanta area will pretty much work. any advice on a good shop will be much appriciated

and no. thats just what most kits the sell run at useing t25's and t28's, 16g is a bigger turbo as well. When Raod/Race Motorsports first started boosting lancers back in 2001 or so, they turned it all the way up to 13 before they blew a rod. pluss there are plenty a of guys running 9-10psi with stock internals that i know of.

should've just got a EVO! Stock evo's peak stock boost is 19psi at 3500rpm..Tapers to 16psi after Mid end. But there are ways to change that if you get it tuned/flashed. EVO FTW

ok we US Lancer guys get that enough on the lancer forums... no its not awd, no its not a stock turbo car, yes an evo is a much better platform to start from... but its not an evo...:goodjob:. not to mention not everyone has 20k for a car.

remove those front weights off the frame support. You'll lose 15-20 lbs.
I give u a lot of props doing that. Its amazing you guys can do this on the ground. I have a shop and i dont think i could ever work on the ground.

yeah i had to take them off along with the crash bar to get the IC to fit.
n thx. im pretty sure im the first one in GA to do it. and there are only a a few turboed lancers in the south but they are all premade kits that i know of. and trust me i would die to have a lift , but it really isnt that bad if you know your car well.

What happens if you boost spike? Wont you blow the engine up? Why not tune it down to 8psi? It should be pretty quick i would assume for an OZ lancer at that point, wouldn't it?
TheShortBus
04-07-2008, 07:41 PM
true, but it would have to spike up 4 psi to hurt anything. but you do have a good point. either way once i get about 2g's more im gunna beef up the motor and run 18-20 :).
there is a guy on the lancer forums who did that and is running 19 with 308 to the wheels
right now i just want to do 10 so i can hit the 200whp mark
wow... i have seen a lot of lancer guys talk **** how they are gonna turbo their lancer but never seen one actually do it.
props to you. i'd love to see this either irl or pictures... seeing as though you are in kennesaw maybe one day we can meet up.
reps for you.

so i just pulled another all nighter finishing up all the wiring and everything else is pretty much done. tomorrow im goin to the exhaust shop to get my down pipe flange fixed so it lines up better with the exhaust, got my greddy rs bov coming in the mail, and have an appointment at batlground to get tuned on the 23rd :D. so ill post some finished picks later and will throw up some numbers after i get it tuned

help?
ok so my boost gauge is reading -12 to -10 at idle, but ive herd it should me more like -18 to -22..
ive got my boost gauge, bov, and fmu all tied into the same vacuum line and was told that shouldn't effect anything. and ive checked for leaks and have hose clamps on every hose.
not sure whats up..

TheShortBus

its a prosport digital gauge

^^heres the gauge i have. i feel dumb now cuz i looked at the site and it only goes down to -14. im usually reading -12 to -10 at idle. so since it only goes down that far is that a problem?
TheShortBus
04-15-2008, 04:05 AM
ok so i just looked at it again... it reads -14Hg (Mercury) to +45psi.
my dads an engineer and was try to explain something about Mercury with gauge pressure and what now, but im pretty slow in the head when in comes to science n that kind of stuff... :P. so yeah anyone want to explain it in "moron terms"?

Have u thought about getting slightly bigger injectors and an AFC to tune with, put some 550's on there and get a decent tune and you can make more than 220 safely.
TheShortBus

well ive been told that my 440's are plenty big for what im goin to be runnin.
and im gettin tuned at batlground on friday

04-25-2008, 05:58 PM
well i just got back from batlground. Dan did an awsome job. im currently running 7 psi peak with 185whp and 205torque
we tried for 200whp but i have a boost leek somewhere, so as soon as it gets to about 4500rmp the boost drops from 11 back down to 7. so once i get that fixed im takin it back in.

well, good luck running 11 psi daily... i remember when boeturbolancer blew his **** up twice with a 75 shot. it's been a while since i've been looking into the 4g94 turbo scene.
i remember when i wanted to do all this.... now i have a new car.

well i know quite a few guys on my lancer forums who are doin it just fine. as soon as you get up to 13+psi is when you need to worry. the stock pistons and rods blow at 14..
not to mention turbo and nitrous are a completely different things.. and when it comes to stock lancer motors they are just week as hell. there are guys i know that blew it up more than once just running a 40shot..

Well I just got a port and pollished 4G93 intake manifold off of a Mirrage. The g93's runners arent as bent and are shorter for better flow, and the intake penium can be ported to 60mm vs the g94 can only be ported to about 52mm.
So anyway i want to get a ported throttle body as well to go along with it. RRM makes the stock g94's that are ported out 5mm over stock (duno what the stock messure ment is) but they are $300.. and they also charge you an extra 100 as a core charge and then send them your stocker and yadda yaada blaa....
So i need someone who knows alot abot Mitsubishi parts that are compatible with differnt cars. Like if i could possilby get a 1G eclipse throttle body or somthing like that. Just an example cuz ive herd they flow better, but have no clue if they will fit :/

n yeah about a a year ago i didnt know the first thing about turbos or moding cars at all really for that matter.. lol. just have done a **** load of research and ive always been pretty handy with tools and stuff, so im really glad it turned out great.
but a lil update.
installed my ported 4g94 intake mani and megan racing coilovers and now it rides and sounds really good.
but on a random hot day my clutch went out annndd my radiator cracked... so ive got an Evo 9 JVT Racing radiator and ACT stage two clutch on the way as well :).
once i get it running again im goin to try and take it back to dan to get it retuned again and see what im pulling now

You need to be retuned ASAP the car was never tuned to run 11lbs. Give me a ring at the shop and Ill work you into the schedule. We may just need to check it and make sure that its running ok so it may not even have to be tuned. Either way give me a ring at the shop and we can schedule a time for you to come in.

id have to do some research really quickly as far as scaling for injectors that small, but im pretty sure i can flash a regular lancer with the software i use. I think you could pretty much say, im very familiar with the evo platform lol. Before you get too crazy, you may want to rethink the mani
