Anyone interested in Drifting Karts at Andretti?!

We are thinking of starting a league at Andretti SpeedLab on Monday nights 8-10pm.

Cost is $30 per person. At this point you have to have a license, but thats only $7.

The course will be a drift setup on the circle track, we will be using LEAGUE Karts with NO GOVERNOR. 4 Karts at a time, 3 sessions 6 minutes a piece.

If you are SERIOUSLY INTERESTED, post up cause we have 20 spots available.

We will be taking prepayment if enough interest is received.

league karts with no governer FTW. you dont need a huge track.. the oval is fine with those karts to drift.

its basically to have fun, after the first time we want to put a league together for competitions.

it definetly wouldnt be a bad idea and i would definetly be interested regardless of track....lol, if anything, ill own on the oval then go own on the bigger track! haaha!

The $30 fee is every time we host the event, which may not be every single week. We are going to see how it goes then get a concrete thing together if it looks like the interest is there consistently (maybe give away prizes if it gets good). The $7 license fee is a one time deal. Our plan is to give 3, 6 minute sessions to each driver with 4-5 karts on track at once). Usually you pay $20 for 1, 10 minute session on the oval in the sprint karts (I believe). The League karts are fast as hell...way better than the sprint karts and it is expected that we will crash :) . We are still working out details with Andretti, so not this Monday, but maybe next. I will be sure to post up a separate thread when we are ready. Right now we are gaging interest. Some things to keep in mind are that beginning at 10 on Monday nights (right wen we will finish up), the video games are free an they have drink specials (like $5 car bombs).

We used to do this all the time, but last I heard they canceled on it because of clutch issues.. At one point they added some sprayers on a kart to spray the fluid onto the back wheels..Pretty crazy. That was started when chris and chad worked there...They would let up to 6 karts when we went..Good times with the dm guys and friends..This should be tons of fun if it goes through..

Yea it was a blast! They actually approached us to see if we could get it going again in the league karts (I guess they have a new GM according to the guy I talked to about it). We been going on Mondays for the 1/2 price deal. They have a league for the fast karts and we went to check that out last Sunday. THOSE KARTS ARE FAST AS HELL AND ARE DANGEROUS IN THE WRONG HANDS!

The league that is going on already on Saturday (I said Sunday but meant Saturday) morning happens on the big track in the fast karts. It is usually booked wit a waiting list and you have to be there at 8 am!!!!! This would be for the oval course. Eventually we would like to have an actual racing league like they have on Saturday on the big track. We are just trying to accomplish what they are asking us for before we ask to do something else.
