just replace dizzy cap, plugs, sparks about a month ago...light fly wheel no...
noob question...where can i find the main relay

even tho it starts with that dizzy and you replaced cap doesn't mean it might not be the problem. There is som sensors inside the distributor that can go bad. At least try another distributor or borrow someones' just to test it.

crank sensor? I've had this problem on two previous cars; a jeep and a subaru forester....both times was the crank sensor.

that should be located in the distributor in obd1 car and obd2 is on the oil pump located by the crank

does it die when it idle or when you give it gas then it die?

EJdm
03-13-2008, 04:24 PM
it dies randomly...when im driving normally, when im stop at a light and when i leave the car on at my house....i order a main relay at Acura so lets hope that was it....

well i had a problem similar and it turned out to be the throttle was closing too much and choking out the engine and it would die randomly. i also had low idle and ran rich too. hows your idle?

EJdm

it idles sometimes but not all the time, after that rpm is at 750-800...is this the main relay???

i also put a relay out of my civic..i drove for awhile and die like before...can it be something else???

compression test, CPB test.( cylnder power balance.)
check fuel injectors for a faulty one or clogs, check fuel pressure, did you get the spark plug wires mixed up? , check timing.

EJdm

compression is at 170...timing check and is good...dont know how...will check on the others...thanks guys

main relay don't usually make the car die after its running, it just wont start period. if it does it when your foot is off the gas its probably the idle air control valve (on the back of your Intake manifold). if it does die while you are driving and you are on the gas more than likely your distributor is bad.

huh?? your throttle is designed to close completely. your IACV is probably bad also.

no f*ker.... i already swapped it out and fixed it, but then took it back out and put the old one in because my car started bein a *****, then put in a new speed sensor, and havn't put the good one back in yet.....
havn't we been over this coolant thing a few times now... and the answer is always.... no chris, i'm not low on coolant
