my xbox keeps freezing on the green and white screen on startup, but only when i try to play halo 3. anybody know what the problem might be?

It's the 33% fail rate. Try sitting it in a different position or butting rubbing alcohol on the disk.

it does wanna play COD4 but i let my friend borrow it... oh well.

ill try that stuff you said though. its pissing me off thought cuz i just got this p.o.s back from microsoft recently.

i just got mine back from xbox not too long ago and i tripped on the power cord and for a moment the 3RLOD came back on. I fixed the cord and it cranked right back up and no lights yet. **** better not happen again.

damn i haven't had a game system fail on me since NES (flashing green screen lol)

SNES was solid... n64 was even more solid

but then again i dont play games much any more, last system i paid for was the ps2 lol

i tried the alcohol thing and it now goes to the bungie screen... but then it freezes and i get the unreadble disc thing

Eh, I hated halo 3 but took the time to beat it... once. I've been playing alot of R6V though, in anticipation of Vegas 2 soon...

Only game I have issues with is Forza 2 sometimes when I am scrolling through my garage of cars it locks the whole system up and I have to reboot and its fine, No flashing lights, etc... Its just Forza 2 locks it if I scroll to fast I guess

the game has a couple of really small scratches, but nothing that should affect performance. i just got this thing back from when my other broke and they sent me a refurb. so it shouldnt overheat. didnt they change the design to make it more reliable?

unless there is a ring on the disc it should be fine, disc wise so it might be the xbox drive

theres a ring on it like there is on a brand new cd after you only listen to one song, but thats it.

Only the first gen 360's had the failure issues and over heating. Mine is one of the newer ones and I have yet to have any heating or ring of death issues

yeah i dont get any overheating or red lights, halo just wont work.
