do you really need to spend $300+ for a wideband gauge, that the tuner will have and use to get your car in the right AF ratio.and then after its tuned it turns into the basic $60 AF gauge?

is there a point to having it even after the tuner uses theres and everything?

Most tuners should have their own wideband. Why do you have to buy it? Even if you buy it, it is not a bad investment. Yes, it is very useful unlike the narrowband. Since you turbo your car, you want to keep your eyes on the AFR all the time in case something happen even tho it is arealdy tuned. You never know.

I understand that it actually reads the AF correct and not just a disco ball like the narrowband, but thats just alot of money for a gauge, when the tuners have it and use it to set you straight in a few hours.lol
and i read that that the bosch(sp?) only works for about 60k miles then you need to replace the sensor and thats another $100+ for an o2 sensor..

i know cant cheap out on turbo parts, but just seems silly for that gauge..when a narrowband will work decent after tuned..

His point is that the tuner will not be following you around with his wideband sensor, so if something does go funky with your A/F ratio, you can see it.

do you plan on using race gas on this car or will it be a pump gas only? if you plan to run race gas at any time, i suggest going ahead and getting the ntk sensor instead of the bosch. the bosch will foul out with race gas.

I've been using Innovate LC1 wideband for 2 years now, and daily drove the car. I had absolutely no problem with it. It has both narrow and wideband output. You could use laptop to datalog or view the AFR if you don't have the gauge.

I have a PLX m250 for sale, ill let it go for 100.00 and all u need is the gauge that cost 50.00.

I use my wideband to datalog and check my A/F ratio all the time.i rather be safe then sorry. There is things that can change a tune and make you run crappy, such as a hotter day will make you run more lean and a cold day will make you run richer.

$279 wideband datalogger. I've been running mine for about 3 years.

It'll log afr, rpm, throttle position, boost (optional), egt (optional), 5 volt user imput (I log MAF), 6 hours in one file, pause, review, keeps logging, good sample rate. GREAT customer service.

You can do a pull, pull over review the log, make corrections, keep going. If you try that **** with just a gauge in a 300 hp car, lol.

If you race you can log your runs and review them.
