This is more proof why no one under the age of 18 should have a driver's license.

Yes, you are SCREWED.
Your insurance rates WILL GO UP.
You better hope that the other driver does not decide to sue you.
Because you are registered under your dad, he has the potiential to lose everything. It has happened before. Dude wtf are you doing getting into accidents your fault. Young and crazy, still in high school...wow.

Young and crazy, still in high school...wow.

What? Where did he say that? Did I miss the part where he said what was happening when he got into the wreck, and it was something that a "young and crazy" person would do? For all we know he was doing some grey area thing that we've all done accidentally before, and he got caught.

Plus buddy your birthday is April 28, 1990. Way to draw attention to yourself, considering you are in high school and underage for this site.

well we pulled up to the middle of this intersection dats connected to a highway. so we went to the middle and kept going and then a car hit our passenger side. unfortunately no one was hurt but were kinda sore from the accident. the lady said was nice and said accidents happen and that its alright insurance will take care of everything. after she left i got a citation from the officer and i got a court date on the 10th.

Honestly man theres nothing you can do. Just apologize to the lady, pay your fine and let insurance do its thing and fix the vehicles. Its all you can do unless you want to pay out of pocket for the repairs of the vehicles! J

fukc that man haha. well yeah i apologized to her and she said its okay and that its just a accident it happens. but yeah im gonna pay my fines and ima let insurance take care of the cars, but i dont understand about insurance going up. right now i wanna get another car but scared to because of insurance going up. how long do u think i have to pay for insurance when the rates are still high?

green91
03-09-2008, 09:11 PM
Man its hard to hear but you gotta be held responsible for your actions.. you caused the wreck so you cant expect your rates to not change. The amount of change / length etc really depends on your insurance company though.

yunglaosta
03-09-2008, 09:13 PM
yeah i take full responsibility for the accident i was just worrying about how long i have to keep paying the change of the insurance rates. trying to save up as much as i can so i can try to pay it off as soon as i can. first the citation then the insurance...woo what a beech.

rates are always high at your age. it doesnt start getting cheap until your 25th birthday! Thats why your dad has insurance and your a insured driver under his policy! It was your fault so u got to come out of pocket to fix you car..if its totalled..forget it. and try to find another one. rates will go up.. but i have Allstate also and they do provide accident forgiveness where nothing changes, but that doesnt mean you can get into accidents all the time because they WILL screw you!!.. find a part time job and help your dad pay the insurance bill:2cents: all and all be careful because there are alot of people in this world that should not be driving young or old, male or female or black or white o by the way it could have been way worse.. Im sure your dad has made a claim, and you keep up with claim adjuster because they will let you know the status of the claim. as long as the insurance company pays for the damages or injuries she cant sue and if she does that she wont sue you or your dad it will be the insurance company. hope this helps and be fU(kin carful

Dude, seriously stop getting in accidents. 5 in a month? Are you kidding me?

The only accident I was in was deliberate on my part. I flat out rammed the guy. Go ARB bumpers!

hmmmm youre f.ucked, you wont drive until you take defensive driving classes, most likely after court you will have to pay fines, insurance will go up even if they decide to let you drive again, you might have to wait til youre 21, and from the looks of it, you've lost respect from people who even had started to give you respect for being a smart driver, so now stick to your bike and please do me a favor and stay off IA

WHAT?!?! Five in a month? He neglected to mention that.

And yeah, I know someone who got cut off by a lady, and instead of swerving or braking he went ahead and hit her. He just needed some new paint on his bull bar or w/e you want to call it lol

Plus if I understand that feature correctly, you have to pay for it. It wasn't retrofitted to every policy when they came up with it.

I honestly don't think the lawsuit part will happen unless you killed the other driver or really, really seriously injured them. If they're physically ok then their/your insurance will pay for the repairs to their car and they'll probably just be on their merry way.

But yes, unfortunately your insurance WILL go up. In court they may not even ask you anything unless you want to defend yourself. Most courts just want their money ASAP. It's hard to say how much the ticket will be. Anywhere from 2-500 bucks. Hopefully on the low side.

And, of course, try to be more careful. Everybody screws up. You obviously weren't drunk or something. You just made a mistake.

Good luck, man.

EDIT: Wait...where did he say he's been in 5 accidents in a month?! If that's the case...dude stop driving for a little while. Bad **** follows you around...

Check this guy out. Dude, he's nowhere near fuked so please unless you know what's really going to happen or are going to attempt and be a help, then leave this thread.

Anyways, to the OP, don't pay any attention to any of that. All you will be looking at come court time is a FINE. Also, you didn't state what the officer cited you for but that is what you will be paying the fine for. As far as you know your insurance might go up only $10 bucks. You never know. It all depends on your driving record. Too many tickets = high insurance. But that's all that will be happening in your case. Also, if your dad had full coverage on the vehicle you were driving, your insurance will ask you to pay a deductible fine, and the rest will be covered by them. Deductible fees are I believe around $500 -/+. It all depends on your policy that you have with your insurance company.

Good luck to you.

unfortunately no one was hurt but were kinda sore from the accident.

WTF? I hate to criticize anyone but you really don't need to be driving on public roads if you think it is unfortunate that no one got killed/hurt.

this is true, unfortunatly.
it took me 7 months of driving to loose mine. 13 tickets. if it was 18+ can get their license i think i would probably have it.

You really shouldnt post when you have no clue what you are talking about. If the lady didnt leave strapped to a gurney she doesnt have serious enough injuries to cover the max medical coverage on his insurance policy. In GA the minimum coverage is 25k limit bodily injury liability for 1 person and 50K for all persons. Your dad may have much more. I have 100k/300k on my policy for my daily.

It was your fault so u got to come out of pocket to fix you car..if its totalled..forget it.

you are also FAR from correct. I've been in 2 wrecks. 1 my fault, 1 no fault. I paid my deductable and my vehicle was fixed both times with no problems. The only time insurance doesnt cover your vehicle is if you have liability only.

When I got the ticket for my wreck it was for following too close, it cost me $81.00

Unless the driver had some sort of tangible injuries such as broken ribs or decapitation she/family has a small claim injury wise anyways and you dont have to worry about being sued, but if your dad has the GA minimums and she was SERIOUSLY hurt then you have a problem.
