The only person I know close to me was my dad. He was in the Army for 20 some years. Retired in 1992 during Desert Shield due to an injury. Retired SFC/E7 (Combat Medic)
Cant recall exactly but 82nd AirBorne out of Fort Bragg rings a bell.

I was in the military for 8 years. went to Iraq when OIF started.
Infantry Scouts here, hooah!
Signed up for 6 but got cut short by an injury, so I was only able to serve 2 years. Crazy though since a month after I got injured, my unit got deployed.
No pics here at work, sorry.

My whole family is a military family. I chose college. I did participate in college Army ROTC @ Clemson University but that doesn't compare one bit.
I have a lot of respect for them. I have 2 cousins out at sea, 1 in Afghanistan, one in VA, and one in Qatar!!

Was going to Air Force in October of 2006 but was not able to due to having brain surgery when I was young. But I support the military in every way. Thank you all that served. You are the true heros!

Huah, and YES, I do know what a leg is, LOL. I know many of them by the way. Jumpin makes you no better than someone else. I enjoy working with all the services and am glad to serve alongside many. Although, there are some, even Army, that I just can't deal with. Huah, AIRBORNE

Nah I got out in 2005 after 7 years. I've been in college ever since. Millitary wasn't for me. I have a hard time taking orders from people that I don't respect and/or are half as intelligent as I am.

Same here. My dad was an OH-58D pilot for 20 years in the Army. Got out, about 10 or so years ago and started instructing as a civilian. Got bored, joined up with Blackwater as an MD-530 pilot in Baghdad. Blackwater's higher-ups in Baghdad fucked him over, so now he's flying C-212's in Afghanistan, dropping supplies to our troops.
lol. This is an old fuckin' thread.

10 weeks in the USAF, to be a Special Operations Pararescue Jumper...Unfortunately, I had pre-existing class 4 stress fractures which is now disqualifying apparently. Now home and healing, hoping to go back and try again. God Bless out troops and all those who have served!

Instead of armed forces, I'm going to college, but I stand by the fact that serving our country in the armed forced is an amazing position, and I am in full respect and gratitude to those serving our country. I hope I'll be able to repay our country in some way that pales in comparison to what you do. To all people on IA serving, thank you and come home safe
heres a few from my last ine in Haiti

Going to basic? If so good luck and don't let them get to you. Trust me there are far worse courses in the army than basic. My advice is to lay low and get through with as little face time with DS as possible.

I know plenty of guys that've pushed through stress fractures, but when I have Pararescue cadre telling me I need to get my legs checked out then I'm discharged without question, theres not much I can do about it. I'm probably going to go back next year, I just want to make sure I'm 100% this time around.:goodjob:

Yeah I don't think I would want to go through some shit like pararescue training with any kind of injury. I'm surprised they kicked you out though. Air force is different in the army they usually reclass you.

Currently in Iraq, my supported area is Al-Kut, Fallujah, Diwaniyah, Naseer Latifah, Baghdad, Balad, etc., etc. basically south of Baghdad and all over Iraq. Was an E-7, now a CW2. I know and have been to most of the places pictured. Last tour was with 173rd in Afghanistan, they made a movie about us soon to be released called "Restrepo."
