well as many of you know every thursday there is a meet at the varsity downtown.....this week as me and my friends were walking around we couldnt help but wonder why we go there...........lets face it the varsity parking lot is very small, filled with pot holes, and is not in the easiest to get to location.
we think it is time and the scene is big enough to relocate to a bigger and better (smoother) parking lot somewhere....
i thought of the parking deck at atlantic station up top would be good because its very close to the varsity and its bigger and pot hole free....
any suggestions for other lots downtown for the thursday night meet are welcomed but i think for april we should relocate to somewhere bigger and better than the varsity.....
Lucky.

I agree we should move somewhere else, but not because of the condition of the parking lot.
They booted about 15 cars tonight, no warning, nothing.
If they're gonna boot me without even so much as a "get out" beforehand, i'm done going there.
Would it be unreasonable to call the police and ask if there's anyplace they want us to be? Obviously they know about the varsity, they're there every week...

I got booted. It was way more than 15. Even bikes were getting booted. That's when ppl started leaving by the masses. Very very gay

started about 10:15. They actually had the boot on my roommates car but we were actually standing at the cars so they took it off and we bolted.
What happened, did you have to pay or what?

thats my point.....calling the cops well thats not a good idea they will just tell us that we shouldnt meet at all anywhere......i left at like 10:30 or so and didnt get booted at all but i think for sure we should move somewhere.......
any suggestions where..............
try to get the word out to look for a new spot for the first thursday in april

No, I was parked against the wall in the lower area near the parking deck. I just decided after being there since 6pm I was ready to go lol.

I'm not sure they will tell us we shouldn't meet at all. Considering the alternative is having us out on the streets? I dunno if they'll suggest someplace but they're pretty cool at the varsity. As long as no one does anything stupid *coughburnoutscough* they just hang around and let us talk.

i know that everyone would want to do this, but i doubt it will actually go through.

ya it would be real hard to actually get the word out to everyone but i think since its a full month away that it wouldnt be impossible........the main thing though is it will never happen unless we have a spot in mind to go to other than the varsity

as long as you buy something from the V, there isnt much they can do as far as giving you the boot, unless you are doing something wrong...

CHECK THIS> I dont know why anyone hasnt suggested this before, i just moved to atlanta from virginia. there is a small town where alot of guys go to. Everyone would meet at this WAL-MART supercenter parking lot, way more cars than the varsity in a much smaller town than Atlanta. i would expect a little more from "Hotlanta". The Varsity has a nice backdrop but thats it, the place effing blows and frankly i didnt find it that amusing to watch everyone destroy there cars in the potholes of that pathetic excuse of a meeting place. How does a ****hole town in VA beat out a-town, this place blows.

this place blows.
:lmfao: if you find a better place that you dont get kicked out of, and people from all areas will go then you can comment on how much it sucks. until then pipe down lol.

Thats cool go to virginia for some meets then, if "a-town" blows so much.

It would really take word of mouth more than anything else to make everyone go a different meet.

im not saying atlanta sucks, i effing love it here, im from tampa originally where the scene is pretty nice, but what im saying as far as meets go, the varsity is a lame ass place to meet, you guys know what im talking about, fighting traffic to get there, dodging potholes, getting booted, wtf. i cant suggest another place cuz i dont know where to go around here, but there has to be someplace to go right? sorry if i offended anyone, im not trying to stir the pot, but this is the first big city ive lived in where the number 1 meeting spot is a burden to go to. my .02.

i see, the problem is finding a place where security and sometimes cops wont kick you out, and at the same time having it at a location that is central. the V is one of the only places where this happens.

now im rotfl, are serious, no offense, but you must not have lived in tampa, or had any friends while you were there. there is most certainly bigger meets than the varsity every thursday and saturday night in about 10 different places in the tampa metro area, with less rice might i add. did you live off of nebraska ave or something, maybe you went to the ghetto ass usf if thats what your basis is for your experience i feel bad for you bro, but the point is that the varsity is in fact whats weak here, and as
"central" as it may be, i find it a pain in the ass more than a good time, but what are ya gonna do, thats where every goes so i will keep going until we come up with something better.

Tracy and myself tried talking to Atlantic Station. No way we are parking up top.
They do have free parking in the decks for 2 hours, to stay longer, simply drive out and drive right back in, lol.
I have really kicked that idea around and I may start a meet there...we shall see...

Look kids the deal here is that the Varsity meet isnt just IA members, theres alot of different clubs and organizations that have been coming here for years, this meet attracts people from all over the south, theres no moving the meet unless a ton of people get arrested (morland/barret) or theres a place with no cops(nowhere)

alright i didnt start this thread to bash other cities....if you wanna do that then meet up for coffee somewhere. i agree the only real thing the varsity has going for it is the backdrop and the fact that its been the spot for years.......
lets face it though the varsity is already maxed out and as long as fast and the furious movies are coming out and the scene is being filled with tons of ricers and a few people who know their **** then the scene is growing........in other words its only a matter of time before we will have to move to a bigger and better location
