I wanted to run this by yall

in feb of 2009 (I think) they are going to 86 UHF&VHF and go completely digital,,,,,,,,RIGHT????

what I'd like to know is....is the FCC going to abandon the old UHF/VHF system or will they keep it regulated with their laws/regulations????
will they monitor it's activity or use????
what I'm getting at is how kool would it be if arsholes like me & you could setup a broadcasting station and broadcast what ever we'd like

think about it ,,,,theres gonna be a sh!t ton of analog T.V.s just sitting around
and I'd love to broad cast a DJ show or even local DJ battles how cool would that be:goodjob:???

only problem I see would be
(1) the FCC
(2)money to buy all the equipment needed to broad cast

lemme hear you guys input

*86 means to discard, thrash, scrap, get rid of....for those that don't know*

Not really, just SOME people dont even pay attention. Lol

Thatd be pretty nice though, to broadcast ur own. I'll give u 3 old tvs if u want them. Lol. But I just wonder... there will be an awful lot of free bandwidth available along that signal. Where/who/what is gonna own rights to using the channels and would UR ASS get in trouble if Bush and them decided to listen into ur "free" show?

The govt is reclaiming the analog spectrum for fire/police/ and 911 dispatchers so it will not just be sitting out there for the taking. You would have an easier time setting up something over the web.

Tis true, emergency comm probs during 911 made sure the gov would commit to the transition.
