It's not the lack of braking, shifting, and other parts of driving.
It's not even the fact that a "Stock car" is only that in decal.

It's the fans. I liked Nascar 10 years ago. Back then it wasn't mainstream and the sport was still about racing. Today it's about driver personality's and that's it.

I went to Talledega this past year and had a blast. I still don't really like the sport of Nascar, but absorbing the redneck atmosphere at one of the races is beyond great.

Tony Stewart is my favorite driver because someone gave me a "Smoke" shirt to wear to the race. It's easy to decide a favorite when you don't really care :)

I think nascar is bullsh*t. Who cares about them only making left hand turns. Yea its annoying but Indy does it also...once in awhile. Not every other race. the reason I hate nascar is b/c they dont race in the rain. WTF! Motorcycles race in the rain, ralley racers race in the rain/sleet/snow on a damn mtn. Nascar drivers are the biggest babies.

Or Ryan Newman sprint car champion, or AJ Foyt Mario Andretti both Daytona 500 champs. Jeff Gordon Sprint Car champ. Most of the time OW drivers are on crappy teams, Montoya already won a race.

ya no good drivers are really able to get in any more (or they can't get in as easy as they used to). If you're not on a big "team" like Hendrix you arn't going to do so well and if you don't have a "big" last name you probably arn't going to do so well

trust me bro..you are not telling me anything new. i am very aware of the resume that these guys bring to the table. however regardless of what team anyone is on all they have to do is turn left....right? i mean these guys come from "real racing" not this fake bs turning left ****. these guys from irl and cart and where ever else are the elite...are they not? why cant they turn left?

the point im trying to make is that alot of ppl look at nascar and only see left turns. they dont see the car that is over weight and cumbersome. they dont see the ****ty brakes, they dont see the very crude engine management and monitoring system (compared to that of an indy car). you dont have to like nascar but at least have a real reason. not becuase you dont like them turning left. i watch all racing and enjoy it all. but i prefer waching a race where im gonna see lead changes, damn good straightaway passes, and cars that handle ****ty. usually the multi-million dollar parades that are on the open wheel circuits are just as boring to me as the left hand turn fest you see in nascar.

when jpm came into nascar there were all these predictions about how he was gonna win win win and change the sport....well, he won a road race...congrats...now start winning at other tracks like everyone else does. im still waiting for the change to the sport. dale sr dieing brought more change to the sport than jpm has. i dont doubt any of these guys abilities. they are all great drivers but i think we can all agree that when they started driving these cars they got a rude awakening. all of a sudden it became very obvious they are not just turning left. its funny to me that alot of ppl think its so simple yet they cannot even comprehend whats really going on with this "simple" sport.
