I'm sure there will be some sort of clear coat over it. Plus I see this car more as a showroom piece rather than something that will get driven.

On another note this idea could have been brilliant if they would have hired a proper design firm and tried to make this "rolling art" rather than a speed demon.

Why, because it's wood? It's a school project, and it's really pretty interesting. It's all about innovation, even though it's using 150 year old technology, but the innovation in it is achieving modern performance goals using an antiquated technology. Let alone the fact that it's intended to be fully functional. Give the guy his well deserved credit for doing something cool and unique.

Drop all your notions about a wooden structured car and bow to the INCREDIBLE design work, talents and attention to detail. Craftsmanship like this is rare now-adays and this is an unbelievable example of it. I am honored that this level of craftsmanship was applied to something automotive! Reps for the thread poster, and I would give ANYTHING to spend a day talking to these people. What an incredible feat. I am awed.

ahhhh see i didnt really read the post, i heard about a lil while back and thought it was for production or somthing, my bad!:( but if it was it would be dumb as **** but since its not.......wooden supercar ftw:D
