Motherfvcker. Well, about a couple months ago I left some tools lying out. My mother was nice enough to pick them up for me the next day while I was at work. I had assumed that she just dropped them into one of my toolboxes. Well, today, I went to grab my wash bucket to clean up the cars and discover sever sockets, an extension and some other little crap laying in about 4" of water in the was bucket. ****e. Anyone know a good way to get the rust off of these things, preferably chemically? I don't have a work bench with a clamp to be able to take a dremel to them or anything like that.

goto parts store...look on shelf in autobody section....RUST DISSOLVER that **** does wonders......soak them over night in that ****.. parts come out clean!

Wonderful. I have a bottle of ATF out there, but for the life of me, I couldn't remember if it was tranny or brake fluid that would eat rust. Reps for good answers from everyone.

Transmission fluid or PB blaster works too.PB Blaster rocks, just a foaming version of WD-40...the only reason I didn't recommend it is because the foaming action isn't needed in this case (ie: upside down on rusty nuts or bolts) and PB usually costs more. I'm cheap like that! :tongue:

PB Blaster is the ****! I expected to see an infomerical on this stuff its that good.

Try it, it should work just fine. I think you can get it at NAPA.

WD-40, spray it on and soak. the use wire brush...after you get as much rust off...use breakcleaner to spay excess residue. repeat process.

soak them in diesel fuel or some kerosene
that what my father does and it works great

a couple soaks in trans fluid + a couple passes with a wire wheel on a drill got them all taken care of. Thanks for the tips guys.

if the PB blast doesnt work, try the rust desolver like Annihilation said
