No argument here. I agree that there's no replacement for the OGs, but of the newer generation, I think he's one of the better ones. Just the fact that he's not afraid to sound intelligent, and actually uses a decent vocabulary sets him way apart from most.

I disagree completely. He's bringing hip-hop back by being innovative and staying ahead of the game. That's what hip hop was about back then, so why can't change continue? Why would you want to listen to music that sounded the same as it did 10-20 years ago?

Lolol. I don't see any evidence of rap coming back. Not by him or anyone else. Why would I listen to old school rap? The reason is obvious for folks that really know hip hop. Seriously.
Young folks knock old school because you have no idea what it is in reality. All you know is what's out now and for the last few years. All you know is Jay Z. A bit of Biggie. And all this new crap today. You weren't really listening to the Kurtis Blow's and the Grandmaster Flash's and the Busy B's and the likes of these guys. You say you've heard of them or heard their stuff, but I doubt you've ever really "listened" to them. I have room to talk because I was here when rap made it's debut. That doesn't mean that my opinion is greater than yours by any means. Just saying that I've been through the cycle of rap. In actuality and not by just hearing a couple of older songs. I remember when you could barely catch 2 hours of rap on a Friday night. V-103, back in the 80's had an 8pm-10pm time slot for nothing but rap. That was it, lolol.
Now I'm not knocking anyone's opinion when it comes to their favorite MC. I may laugh, but that's just me. I'm not knocking your opinion when you say Lupe is bringing this back. There is more evidence of rap declining than there is of it progressing right now. I also understand that music, along with everything else in lie, must go through changes. But I don't have to like it, lolol. Just like when you get older. You may have the same reactions. "Damn, they don't make music in the 2020's like they did back when Lil Jon was around."
Sorry for the long read and hopefully I didn't offend anyone. Later, QD.

What the hail? You must be needing to sell something.
BCC is not "true" hip hop. Grandmaster Flash, Kurtis Blow, Afrikka Bambatta, Busy Bee and the likes of these homeboys define "true" hip hop.
I don't now, nor have I ever, smoke anything. Game CD. If you knew anything about me, you'd know I can't stand Game.

Now I see why some people on here dislike you. Read back, the kid asked about rap/ hip hop which is the genre that I gave him a couple of things to start off with.
I know you claim all this west coast ****, so that's why I'm giving you a hard time about it. But why would you say you're going to eat ***** on stage? wtf does that have to do with anything? is your e-peen that ****ing small?
Everybody and their ****ing mom knows the same bs you're spouting.
I hope you're not sitting here thinking that hip hop rose and died with those pioneers.

Speaking for others is less than respectful. Especially when you're wrong.
