I don't think it is right to bash a guy for having parents that buy him a nice car.
However, I cannot let it slide that he got a fackin ZO6 because he was sick of his fackin GTO?
No wonder you got sick of the GTO. I don't see how you will appreciate anything.

im in the same boat.. might sell my pride and joy to buy me a little house when i graduate.. idk, i love my car, i just hate throwing away money like this..
and its true, its rare that a 20 year old can buy himself such nice cars, unless he is living at home..
btw that looks like a really nice area and nice house..
and that is so much better than a GTO.. GTO's are nice and all.. but ya know..

I know that's what he's saying. I guess that people these days don't grow up until they hit their 30's.
And sounds like Quick Dodge wasn't loved when he was 20
I'm pretty sure I could make you feel as if you were on the poverty line. If I wanted to be a little girl living at home sponging off parents. But I can't do that. I can't take advantage of the people that raised right and to be my own man. Good luck with the car.
Funny how this can be your only reply. I "wasn't loved." What kind of uneducated response is this? I can't wait for the new IA to be unveiled. Later, QD.

Stay there as long as you can. From a parents perspective I am sure that they love you being there and it doesn't look like they need your rent money. :).
We have offered our 16 yr old a home site on our land just to keep him close. Family oriented people now a days are far and few between so keep it tight and enjoy your time with them!
If and when Austin does eventually move out along with the previous ones and our daughter that is only 14 it will have a huge effect on everyone. You have my respects.
Nice ride and very nice place to call home.

Exactly what I read. At least he is being honest about it.
Our son is 16 and lives rent free and will as long as he wishes too. That just shows that he has loving parents and no wife yet. He has a very nice Dodge Ram that he is paying for along with a brand new Suzuki LT450r. The age just doesn't seem to matter when you have a close family.
Austin probably couldn't afford to move out right now but by the times he does he will have a lot of nice things to take with him to his new home. :goodjob:

Wow. Another crack at me not having loving parents. Nice assumption from people who don't know others. So, because my family wanted me to grow up and mature and be my own person and be independent, that means they didn't love me? Well goddamn. You can be close to the family and still NOT sponge off them. I live within 10 minutes of all my family. I could live high on the hog like some of you little girls on here. As far as money is concerned, I'm pretty sure I could have 99% of IA beat. But, and I can guarantee this, I bet you that I appreciate life 100% more than any of you who grow up in your parents basements do. Life experiences are much better than book/TV/movie/video games experiences. Believe that.
Hail Bugman. I thought you were smarter than that. Later, QD.

WTF? Where the hell did you come up with that chit? I was simply making a positive comment in his direction. Where the hell did ya see me mention your name and why do you think everything has to include you? I even mentioned about our son and the age 16 and him being 20... nothing about you at all.
You thought I was smarter than that? Your right I am but your not looking so brilliant responding back about your family that no one has any concerns of. My post had absolutely nothing to do with you. You should know by now that I do not post negative things very often and when I do it is in defense only and never will I mention family. You were no where in my opinion what so ever.
Aren't you like 30 something? You definitely should not be living with your parents unless other circumstances were there but then again that's really no ones business either. If that is your age group so how the hell can that reflect on you? This kid is 20 years old which in my book is still a child and still needs to be at home. Yeah I moved out when I was 17 and had to bust my azz doing everything the hard way. If he has good caring parents that don't mind him staying there then I would stay there and plan smarter than I did.
Remember before everyone jumps my azz... Just because your 18 does not mean you know WTF your doing nor does it mean that your still not your parents baby.
I am old as dirt so my perspective will vary from most of you but I meant no offense to the youngins from my opinion.

I bet you were a lot more of a man at 18 than he is now (at 20). More respect goes your way than his. I guarantee you that. I'm not really worried about whether or not you have any concern for my family. If I did, you'd be the first I'd talk to about them. You're not. Actually if you ever hear me point in that direction is in the general direction of all the stupid fuking parents (mainly my own) that most of these kids have now a days that take no responsibility to keep their kids out of drugs, jail and other stupid things.
We are a huge contributor to needy families year round and most of them are because of lousy inconsiderate pieces of chit parents a lot like mine were. Nothing meant in your direction but more against 80% of the world today. Most of the time we help feed and cloth children I find it very hard not to knock the living fuk outta the parents sitting on their azz's while I feed them too.
I guess it is a built in hatred that I will never get rid of.

You guys are funny on IA. I have a job. I work for myself. Im in the import/export business. Too many people to reply too. To Trans axle, you think 300$ a month is teaching you any kind of responsibility? Thats a joke. Quick Dodge, you might dwarf me financially, but my family, I highly doubt it. I havent recieved money from my parents sense I was 14. The gto was my dads, well the loan was in his name, so i just payed him, then on the trade-in i have a co-signer. Im well aware of the "real world", I just dont have a reason right now to move out. My family doesnt bother me, and I enjoy living at home for now, but once I turn 21 I will be moving out. There is too many trolls in this forum that just search around threads just to post something "clever" to make them feel good about themselves, when in reality they have no life, friends, etc. I would agree with many of you if I was given everything, but I dont. I hate spoiled rich kids that are given everything, those are the ones that wreck their nice cars and get arrested for drugs and etc. I have a perfect record, and a perfect driving record. Quick dodge please explain to me what you consider the "real world." And I believe I state im aware of the Real World, not experienced it. If I was living by myself, with a house or apt, would I still have a 600$ a month car payment, most likely yes. Cars are one of my few interests, so id spend the money on a car that I would enjoy. And by experiencing the real world, do you solely mean living on my own? Yes I could afford a apt payment, but what would be the point when I have a place to stay for free, it would be stupidity to move out just so I can troll around threads and say "I am experiencing the real world cause I live in on my own"

Congrats on your purchase, LIVE AT HOME FOR AS LONG AS YOU CAN LOL Seriously living on your own is overrated. I have a nice apartment and eventually going to get a house, but still , the money in food, rent, etc etc would be enough for me to yeah you get the idea.

And I believe I state im aware of the Real World, not experienced it.
I highly doubt you really are "in the know" about the real world.
but what would be the point when I have a place to stay for free, it would be stupidity to move out
Wow. Proud of a lack of manhood. The point would be to know you can make it without Mommy and Daddy's money. To know you can be your own man and not Mommy and Daddy's little boy. You're thought processes are the reason why I know you know nothing about the real world.
just so I can troll around threads and say "I am experiencing the real world cause I live in on my own"
Nice comeback. I've never been talked to like that before. Wonder where you learned this gem. Later, QD.

So in order for you to feel like a man you had to move out and lived on your own, you must of been very insecure about yourself when you were younger...

Yes I am. But in this case, as in the previous "doubting" case, I'm pretty sure of myself.
So in order for you to feel like a man you had to move out and lived on your own, you must of been very insecure about yourself when you were younger...
Insecure? About what? If knowing that I can survive this "real world" without being dependent on Mommy and Daddy is insecure, then sure. With every post, you solidify yourself in the world of the spoiled little rich girl. You have no idea of what being a real man is all about.
No comment on your last comment, it is self explanatory.

I dont understand what type point you are trying to make if Im not dependant on my mom and dad? And I think being a "real" man includes having a penis and testicles, unless I missed something in grade school? I think the only way you could be a fake man is by being a transvestite?

Its a two bedroom apartment close to Buckhead/North Druid, I dont have any roommates either . I only live this close because of work. I commutted over an hour each way for 4 years before leaving my parents. It sucked, and Id rather pay that, than lose approx 3 hours of my life everyday sitting in traffic :(

The insurance on my Z06 is cheap also. Cheaper than my wife's previous Lexus and current Acura. It's only a little more expensive than my old Integra. I do have a perfect record but Corvettes have low accident ratings. My wife and I just turned 24 with no tickets but one at-fault accident. =|
I love the car. I'm only going to sell mine to get a nice, bolt-on C6Z or SRT-10 Viper.
Transaxle, just lay off. He's got a nice car, and so what if his parents help him. $300 a month is a joke for rent. You'd pay at least double for a decent apartment and that doesn't include utilities. I paid more in my last month's gas bill than your 'rent'. Don't try to knock the dude when you are still under mom and dad's wings.
Your parents help you by giving you cheap lodging. His help him by giving him free lodging, get over it.

I agree with having a tight home and family, once i grow up i hope to keep my parents close to me and let them smooch of me for as long as they live.
w3rd. prolly move out for 20's and early 30's but in my culture, once the parents retire they generally move in with the kids. plus that way i get good food if my wife sucks at cooking.
Nice car man, fawk the haters, everyone has different circumstances and goals. I know that right now I can go to school only Tuesday and Thursday, go back to my old job and buy myself a nice $30k a car, live at home being only 18 and have no other expenses and my parents would be mad, unless it was a Porsche cause my dad wants one, but they'd still support me and pay for my school. I've thought about doing that but living on you're own is just something I want to do, although I'll prolly live in a **** hole and have a nice car when I get a real job this summer. I respect and understand you.

look, honestly, its a lost fight.. people will always have something to say because you are 20 with a nice car.. i know, and it is why i am now driving a 210k mile 98 cl because i dont want to drive my car on campus because im afraid of someone keying it..
i see it this way, my dad while in engineering school lived at home.. lived at home until he was in his mid to late 20's.. he graduated, bought himself a sick car.. he always told me that you have to have aleast one nice car in your 20's, because after that, when you get married and have kids, you might not be able too.. and by his age, he really wouldn't enjoy the speed and ride, since he wants something comfortable for his back.. he could pay for my car, but refuses to.. if my dad offered to pay it for me tomorrow, how could i refuse? if your fortunate enough to have parents that can buy you nice things, then rock on..
In this case, saving money by living with the rents is good... you chose to fuel you passion with this vette, versus living on your own and driving a beater.. some people say the path you took is bad and that life will suck afterwards, but from personal experience, i know of alot of people that did that and that are now very well off, on their own..
my godfather did that, lived with his rents until he was 30 something.. coolest guy you could meet, he could always get any girl he wanted, but chose to stay home.. now he has his own business making a fortune, has 12 cars and is about to buy a lotus elise or a nsx to add to his collection..
as for me, i drove a 91 accord for 1 year, then managed to save enough for my dream car at the time, a Prelude.. not expensive car, but it was all the money I had.. I expected to keep it throughout college, but with a little luck, I got a really good job and could afford a little upgrade.. if tomorrow I was on my own, I would make it just fine.. i would make enough money to support myself and stay in college.. But the toys; or should i say toy, would be the first to go..
anyway, nice car, moral of this story: dont take anything on here too seriously, live your life how you please, and dont let people on here that do not know you tell you how to live your life.
I often see people affirming their assumptions, noting wrong with assumptions, but affirming something that you don't know reveals a great deal of ignorance and stupidity..
no one really knows who pays for your car except you and your family.. And really, its no ones business but yours.. And this should affect no one, and no one should bash unless it is driven by jealousy.. DO these guys sleep better at night knowing that he doesn't pay for this? He didn't come in here bashing on everyone and saying his car is better!!
The point of this thread on this car enthusiast forum is to show his car, thats IT!! not to figure out who paid for it, it is so immature to attack him on the grounds that he is 20 and don't appreciate/ pay or w/e...

Hm so my 16 yr old son that pays for his own truck and 4 wheeler needs to GTFO? That really doesn't have much logic to it.
I don't think paying for your own stuff has anything to do with it but more of an age/responsibility thing. Some people shouldn't be on their own at the age of 22 or some even @ 25. Every one is different with different maturity levels and responsibilities so it would be hard to set any "move out" rules in stone.
