here is my scenario..i plan on buying these 18s real soon..and the size of the 18s are a staggered fitment. +35 offset 18x8 and 18x9 wheels. on the 18x9 wheels...what is the 'shortest wide' tire i can get? 225? 235?
i plan on going with a 35 series tire because my truck doesnt have much clearance..so a 40series is out of the question. i wanted to do 215/35s up front and 225/35s in the rear, is that safe?

i'm screwed lol...i got the height of a 225/40/18 tire yesterday (25.1" tall) and its gona screw me up man lol. ima retake the measurement today but i'm sure the front will not work like that..it comes up almost an inch past my fender on the front..and its right on my bed in the rear..thats why i wanted a 35series tire

35 series tire is 23.9" tall and it would be liek 1/4" under my fender..almost where my 16s sit right now..but i would have a lil cleanance..i have clearance issues mainly

right now i have 16s (205/50/16)
the 18s have no tires i have to purchase a new setohh, so the 225/40-18 would be 1/2" closer to the fender. The 225/35-18 will be almost identical.

yea..cuz right now...the 205/50/16s are like 1/2" from my fender up front..everytime i hit a bump with those..i rub..i have evidence and have seen smoke arise lol..so now u see why i want a 35series tire?

i didnt remove the bump stops on the front..but the ones on the rear i did..but i never had issues with rubbing in the rear except on the inside of the bed when i had my 18s..but it wasnt even dropped at that point...only 2"

for a 9" wide wheel you are going to want to use at least a 235 and I personally wouldnt use anything thinner than a 245.
Since you are working on a truck, why dont you just adjust the fenders a little to give you more clearance? For that truck you can get 4x4 sheetmetal for the front which will give you an extra ~1". For the rear you are pretty much screwed but if you are hitting there then you need a different offset wheel.

yea i figured that. i do plan on buying some 4x4 fenders for the front..i remember when i had my 40 offset 18s...and they sat in pretty nice under the bed..but the width i believe was 8"..so one inch and a diff of 5 in the offset..i'm wondering how it will affect the setup...

I cant tell how far the wheel sticks out in the rear, but one thing you can do is roll or trim out the inner lip of the well. You can usually gain about 1/2" of clearance there also. Or you can just bag it and that will correct most of these problems.

yea i plan on talking to somebody about rolling the bed 'fenders.' i dont think i wana bag it..i'm leaning towards the 1jz swap next year
