I think I have the flu. I have no health insurance.

I have already taken a Dayquil/Nighquil regiment for two days and even Tylonel Cold and Flu.

nothing has helped. What works to quickly get rid of this??

Yeah I have the flu too... And still going to class... :(

Anyways... Im on Zicam cough which makes you stop coughing for the most part for like 6-7 hours. And also Airborne or Airshield... Its like a huge multivitamin for when your sick. Its been working wonders.
Of coarse, lots of water, OJ and cough drops for the sore throaght.

Thera-Flu works pretty well, Alka Seltzer Cold Medicine does too, but definitely stay hydrated and eat normally.

you need tylenol to break the fever.
and unfortunately, the flu is a virus so you really can't do much but treat symptomatically and get plenty of rest/ water.
airborne/emergenC is a good idea because you'll get the vitamins you need.
try claritin and advil cold n sinus for head congestion. If you have a sinus infection (and you will know because your snot is green/yellow) take anything with guiafenesin in it, it should help drain them. not sure if you can get it over-the-counter.
When it moves down to your chest, do mucinex. When it turns to a cough, thats when you do robitussin.
sore throat- gargle with warm salt water.

hope it helps. getting sick ****ing sucks. best thing you can really do is sleep and eat.

I saw someone reccomending both Zicam and Airborne, but both of these are remedies for the preflu or beginning flu stages, and would not provide as much help now that you have had it for a while.

Zicam essentially claims to prevent symptoms from starting, which I have used it for and it was effective, but also claims to shorten symptom times, that I am not sure of. Airborne is essentially vitamin C times a million. So it builds up your immune system before colds, but it could help with a flu I guess.

Just be very careful if you do decide to take Airborne because too much of a bad thing is possible and you can have too much vitamin C. So don't overdo it, your body can only retain a certain amount of vitamin anyways.

Good luck and feel better.

Thanks to all of you. I went and got some mucinex and Ricola coughdrops last night. Between the dayquill, Nyquill and the mucinex I already feel better and the coughdrops are doing their job. I should be better soon
