I'm going there starting in July, just curious to see if anyone goes there currently and if the video/game programming class is as good as they say it is.
I've seen some portfolios and they look really nice...
Also, would it be better to get a room there for $3,300 per quarter (11 weeks), or live here, in Winder, for ~ $275 a month and just commute...

I go to AiA but i'm in Animation, not GAD. Other than programming and level design, both majors have to take pretty much all the same classes. From what some of my instructors have told me, and what i've heard from many other people, our Animation/GAD BACHELOR students are putting out better work than some of SCAD's MASTER degree students. I commute as well. It's a lot cheaper for me than living down there. Especially when i can get all my classes to line up on only 2 days of the week so i only have to drive down there twice. Good luck.

i've heard the same. like AiA had a guy work on the first blade movie like 8 months after he graduated... well shaun (admissions guy) said i could probably wind up doing it 3 days a week instead of 2.. but thaks a lot man. helped out a lot repped =]

I think I may be going soon. I made a thread like this not too long ago. I didn't get much of a response. I assume no one from IA goes there.

i graduated from there in 05 with a BFA in graphic design and was decently happy with the school overall. they have a habit of getting lots of money out of you in pretty much any way they can, but i guess that's somewhat typical of a private school.
don't really know any specifics of the game/programming courses though. i will say that back then the student housing options seemed to be a rip-off though, one of my old roomates did that program for a while and hated it (apartments they used were fairly far away from the school and in a somewhat crappy area, you had to share a 2br apt with 3 people who you probably didn't know, and the cost was pretty high for what you got). then again, this was in 2002 so things may have changed since then.

Somebody's red mustang (new gen) with a body kit was parked at the V on Sat. and it had a parking pass for AiA. Anybody on here?
