Now they just have to figure out a permanent track schedule!

Will there continue to be some sort of series for the CART chassis? Just wondering, Panoz just released the new DP01 chassis last year and now they have to quit making it if not...

With CART and IRL finally back together, there's really no room for any other open wheel racing in the US. I think Panoz should woo the IRL brass into allowing Panoz to develop an chassis for IRL.

I'd really like to see the inclusion of road courses in the 2008 schedule rather than see IRL remain exclusively oval track.

I wasn't aware of that. I haven't been following CART or IRL much in the past few years.

they used to,
as far as I know, contract with Champ Car means they stopped making the IRL chassis. Maybe they still have all the molds and blueprints and such but who knows, grapevine says that stuff moved to another company that just moved. :crazy:

IRL already runs road courses. They will pick up the Long Beach Grand Prix, Surfers Paradise, and the Edmonton Grand Prix of Canada. IRL goes to a new chassis in 2009, hope it it the Panoz also

This is great news. IRL >>>>> NASCAR. The Indy 500 IS the Greatest Spectacle in Racing. If this'll increase IRL awareness then I'll be a happy man.
