i dont think i took pictures at this event, i was there for a little while, i know batlground and andy sapp were at the first one i went to, and not at the 2nd one, which seems to be this one, there wasnt much to speak of in the way of drifting, not too many cars there could actually hold a line all the way through the course....hence the reason the camera never came out

KidSaru

It was a practice day, there were a handful of good runs and seeing people progress throughout the day was good enough for me.

southeast drift association. marcos took it over and brought it back from the dead.

and his car is now sporting chebby power like mine under the hood ;).

the course design has a lot of off throttle time, and a very fine surface, therefore less smoke.

Yeah, nobody really responded to it. Not many people post about our events on IA. With good reason.

****ing-a....im slowly moving away from drag racing and moving more towards wanting to dip my hand into drifting, not competitively but for fun, ive been to several events now and the whole time im there im jealous....the only thing holding me back now i guess is tires, i have a hard time destroying tires for no reason, unless theyre near free or free

you should definitely come give it a try, you'll be hooked. cordele is pretty easy on tires so even used tires can go a long way.

Enlighten me Erin, did anyone there know WTF they were doing besides you? I see a LOT of body roll and not much rotation in those pics.

there were a large number of new people there so there were a lot of spins, cone munching and generally bad driving habits being displayed. but it's a practice event, it's a time to learn.

i was suprised most of those cars made it around the track and didn't break or catch fire. brake pedals that hit the floor, batteries not tied down, seats not bolted in, fluids leaking onto manifolds/exhaust, etc... i was really alarmed at the percentage of people who showed up not even remotely ready for a simple tech inspection.

I figured as much. That is absolutely ridiculous. Those people should have been booted off the track.

How's your car running? I haven't talked to you in a MINUTE y0!

ran into a little snag and missed my last run group at the event. turns out when i installed a new tank o-ring i managed to pinch the fuel pump wire in the flange. it lasted all day until after the 3rd run group. i pulled up and parked the car, went to start it for the next run group and it popped fuses non stop. other than that little snag it's been flawless. this is the first i've really gotten to drive the car since nationals and the trackday i did the weekend following.

we had 3 LS1 240's out there at this event, i ran tandem all day with a guy named Forrest who has a nearly identical setup to mine in a hatchback. then there was marcos with his coupe with those sick sick sick wheels and turbodave headers on it. all 3 cars eat babies and make children weep.

Thanks for some of the only pics I saw of my car (black kouki weapon 18's). I only got to drift half of the day before the car overheated. I had got on the pad and ruled the cone sliding right but of course I can't really slide left that well...practice practice practice. Anyway on the way around the track my wheel popped off ...guess I forgot to tighten the lugnuts down. 72 hours without sleep will do that. Anyway had to relocate the harness inside the engine bay which took the rest of the day and into the nite when everyone was gone...sucked bad. Anyway then ended up driving to Ft. Walton Beach, FL and made it 2 hours away from there...before the car blew a freeze plug and I turned it off. I was planning to stay for a week in FL and party it up...well anyway had to take that money and pay my pops to tow the car back to TN yesterday. Anyway made it back home...got chewed out for sliding the ride by my dad. STUPID is what he called it. But for now just have to compression test it ...the apexi gasket held up well...replace the freezeplug, waterpump and thermostat...and hope that fixes it. I will be at the next event but I will probably trailer it this time... I'll be practicing more on the left problem...and hopefully I can get some hard angle transitions down. Thanks for the pics. I'll be keeping an eye out for some of the better angles I hit lmfao...and not the spin outs on the 2nd curve lol.
HAD A BLAST...and thanks to MARCOs FOR LETTING ME FIX THE RIDE THERE AFTER HOURS>>>MUCH APPRECIATED.
