no she doesn't. she was offered $1100 for the computer, a $500 gift card, and a $2500 settlement. originally she would have taken that, but now she has attn and the wheels are in motion she just wants to milk what she can by suing for an outlandish amount...and be a b!tch about it.

x2 I hate how people like to take advantage of the legal system. If I were best buy I would sue for harassment. $1100 was a completely reasonable offer. Sorry ***** but computers depreciate fast, live with it

Yea good idea, let her win. Then I can come in to where you work and live and fall down and bust my ass, then sue the hell out of you when you laugh. I'll say it was "pain and suffering, mixed with unbearable mental anguish".

do you people read? she said in the article, that she DOESNT EXPECT THE MONEY! it was strictly for media attention. she wants enough to cover the computer the data (including personal info) and court fees and such. i cant see her getting much more than 5-10 thousand.

im pretty sure anyone on here (with personal info worth stealing) would be pretty upset at the risk of identity theft. i've worked mighty hard for my credit, if some dumbass geek squad agent stole it to buy usb powered dildos i'm reasonably sure i'd hit the fan too.

Ok so she is just using up precious legal system time. Throw her ass in jail. My info got stolen from the DMV about 2 years ago, it sucks yea but I'm not going to sue them unless something actually happens. She should have thought about the personal info before taking it to best buy.

lol we'll see how this goes, I don't see the court awarding her that much. But then again the court has awarded people $10million for burning themselves with hot coffee before so I guess anythings possible

^^Once again, are you retarded? Can you not read? She is NOT expecting 54mil, she did it for publicity, which is a smart move.

That case actually had merit to it. My friend's dad who is a lawyer studied that case. Turns out that McDonald's had been intentionally making their coffee boiling hot, even though they knew it was dangerous, because they wanted to cover up the taste of bad beans.

It isn't a smart move at all. She is wasting the courts time. If she wants 2k back then she should have gone to small claims court, not sue someone for 54 million. Just an attention whore, thats all. What do you not understand about this?

I didn't read all the way through, just skimmed through the first paragraph. I'm at work, didn't feel like wasting time.
