I just picked up a 2003 z06 for the lot, The car drives out fine and runs strong. Sometimes after WOT though, the clutch seems to catch at the very bottom after a stong pull. After a few seconds though, it seems to be fine. A few people have said to change the clutch fluid. I'd just like to get some opinions from you vette guys in here, Thanks!

The car will be at APF on Monday getting tuned and looked over:goodjob:

Changing the fluid regularly will help but not completely eliminate the issue at times. This is a LSX issue and happens with every GM LS car I have talked to people about.

My best practice is to suck out the fluid from the reservoir before EACH drive and refill with Syn DOT 5 fluid.

Does a really good job of eliminating the frequency of the sticking clutch but if I do many hard runs it will happen again.

I have heard of a "drill mod" but never looked into it.

Thanks for the help! I'll look into it once its tuned

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to LEAVINU again.

You may want to have the clutch system completely flushed, then do what LEAVINU suggested to help maintain it and prevent it from happening in the future.

It has a new Spec 3+ clutch and is running a D series Procharger. I just thought it wouldn't have that problem since its not a stock clutch. I will also get the clutch system flushed on Monday along with the tune, Thanks again guys!

actually, its just a 50th anniv. year, not necessarily a 50th anniv. model. those only came in that burgendy-ish color with magnesuim wheels. sorry for the correction. still a nice ride tho! i'd rather have the z than the actual anniv edition :D

I'm not to familiar with vettes but that is also what I was told, that the 50th anniv model was only available in like a burgendy color

yeah the 50th is more of a collector's car while the z is more of a driver's car.

It may be the same one. Capital Cadillac did put in a brand new motor in the car and it does have a polished rear subframe. I did not get it from there though

I do not drive a vette but the same thing happened to my camaro. It usually happens to all LSX powered M6 vehicles at some time. Changing the fluid will help, but it may not completely solve the problem.

You may also need to change the clutch master cylinder or do the drill mod like LEAVINU said. I can try to explain the drill mod to you if you need any further help.
