that kinda **** makes me sick! i use to go to school with kids like that back in the day. mommy and daddy buying them everything. my first car back when i was 16 was a 91' stang lx 5.0. tho may not be the fastest and not everyone likes them, i paid 8k cash 3 months before my 16th b-day for it. MY money that I worked for and saved. they thought they were soooooo cool, tho i would smoke 90% of them. LOL

I mean 99 cobra is ok. My pops let me drive his old C4 vette when i was 16.

But he made sure that he was in the passenger seat too. He was not going to let me kill myself.

I think 16 rookie drivers is a bad stereotype.

You guys do realize that there are 14 year old pro cart drivers. These 14 year olds can control a car alot better than some of the best on this site.

Yeah he's young. But age isn't the same thing as experience.

Yea thats what he should be driving and tryin to race a go kart!!
We are talking about a 600whp evo. Thats a whole lot more power
to try to handle on the street for that kid. Look at him. And its not about how good u can drive. Its
about watching everyone else on the road ur racing on

a pro race cart is faster than a "600hp evo"! 0-60 under 3 sec and 150+ mph.

But besides the point i grant you that "harry potter" prolly isnt all that but pro race drivers usually start before they are 5 years old.

The streets are different but elements you learn on the track can be used on street.....Like looking out, proper seating, being alert, not the racing part.

There is the element of peer pressure i guess but its no different then if your 20 or 30+ and its the same thing using your head and not going with it.

One more note.

who's to say that driving as a whole reflects age. I mean lets compare it to other things. You can be 18 to fly a plane. Ive done it and i was better than alot of the people that were older and even had more experience on my first flight. Not bragging but i just remembered how age really has nothing to do with experience.

i disagree.... i never read a rule of tuning that said a car cant be given to you and you are not the judge of whether this guy deserves the car or not.

Again, like its been mentioned times before.....its a jealousy trait.

i dont care about "respect in the street of this scene man".....

im about real driving skills and dont concern myself with other people. This scene is more about focus on being unique. if all a person concerns themself with is other people and how they gained their ride, then this really isnt the best hobby for them.

Player hating is though!

Soo.......

a tuner is judged by who bought him/her the parts vs what the tuner was able to accomplish with the parts.

What is your definition of a tuner?

A person who put all there money in there ride and put there blood and sweat on ur car is a true tuner to me. Plus u repect ur car alot more when u work for everything u put into it.

EJ25RUN
02-13-2008, 11:48 AM
putting ur blood and sweat on ur car. Plus u repect ur car better when u work for everything u put into it.

i can see the factor of buying your own car.

but actually working on a car you were given is no different than putting in the same long hours working on it yourself.

Granted i've owned three cars and i bought all three with my own money and i get pride from that. But i wish i had spent more time in school instead of working my ass of for the cars and letting my grades slide.

Bashing a 16 year old because his parents are proud of him and get him something he might actually deserve has no valor.

Your idea of "respecting your car better when u work for everything u put into it".....well at his age "work" might be school. My friend said he was able to get HOPE for college but his mom said keep the HOPE money and she'll pay for college. That was like $5,000.00 dollars to spend on whatever.

All this thread is about is the fact that certain people cant take a younger kid having better stuff than they do.

Blood and sweat on your car. It's just not for everybody. Thats why tuning shops exist.

I'm 21 and own an STI, when a lot of people see that, they automatically assume the rich mommy/daddy routine. They are very wrong.

Mr.Big
02-13-2008, 11:54 AM
See u maybe pay u car note and insurance . I know that aint easy
and trying to mod it. U repect the car ur paying so much for

But this 16 year dont have this stress on his back to worry about
he just drives it.
And all this thread is about is that it must be good!

UpSideDownDesi
02-13-2008, 11:58 AM
you can accomplish alot at young age...most of the 16-21 year olds blow their money on drugs and stupid ****. Use money smartly and you can own mostly anything.

Haters want to hate, lovers want to love.

Even if you are into cars, a 500hp evo/VW/pinto/bicycle is 100% showing off if you are a 16-yr old, no-racing-skills suburban high school kid (which the kid obviously is).

I do think its too nice a car for most teenagers out there...but I would be worried about the kid's friends and peer pressure )"Hey man, I heard you had a 500hp pinto.... lets go race it, unless you're a *****") that might influence the kid to do something stupid.

There are *way* better things or ways to spend that kind of money on a 16 yr old. Send him away to Brazil/Japan/wherever for 6-8 months or put him into a racing school/league full time if he is so into cars, etc.

I just think that that car it is a waste for that particular kid

i wonder what he'd have to say if that 16 year old found this thread.

It think it'd be along these line.

Hey guys, i see you found a vid about me. Um i've never meet you guys so i don't know why you keep trashing me. I guess it is rare for a 16 year old to have a car like this but i made a bet with my dad that if i got good grades, he'd get me one. i won the bet. I also don't see why everyone says i'm gonna die. I've never had a moving violation and learned to drive on my previous slow lancer. I then made the jump to the evo. I learned to drive it right from stock and added parts the better i got. I'm the safest driver i know and i only really open her up at the track. Again i really think you guys are just jealous. There are alot of people that have better stuff than i have, but i don't go on a forum and say they are gonna die. Or even talk about whether or not they deserve it. That's nobodies business but my own. Later guys im gonna go find a girl to finger. :)
