Anybody know the guy who owns this car?
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a5/JustinRush/122_2213.jpg

I saw him in Jasper, GA Friday night headed north. Well on Saturday me and some friends rode up to the dragon to hang out with killboy (www.killboy.com) and saw this car on the rollback in Robbinsville, NC. I know they were having some kind of Prelude meet up there, and since I passed this guy in Jasper I figure he's from around ATL probably. Just wondering if he's ok and would like to here the story behind this.

Ouch, I'd like to hear the story too. I was up there last weekend with Team Integra and we saw a smashed Miata and a few downed bikes, but nothing that serious.

This Happened close to Fontana Dam 8miles from the Dragon coming from fontana village! The curve is a long easy turn that can be hit very fast, and Im sure thats what happened!

http://jsmooney.com/toast/

there's all the pics

i guess the wreck at the state line (first curve of the dragon) was the fourth gen prelude we heard that wrecked

Was the red one trying to pass him through that turn? Just a guess, since the damage is on that side...

That wasn't even at the dragon. This was a mile from the campsite that most stayed at (Fontana Dam though TICC didn't camp but we did hang out with them each night). They were following a Miata who tried to drift (on bald cold tires) and lost it. The red lude was behind and panicked slamming on his brakes (he only had the car for a few weeks too so he didn't really know the car that well). The green lude was apparently following too closely (like 3 car lengths is what I heard) and tried to avoid him. At first, the red lude was to the left so the guy in the green one tried to go to it's right to avoid but as the accident was unfolding, the red lude started going back to the right and the green one T-boned him. Then after t-boning him, he went up against the rock wall there. His rear pass side tire caught a rock or something and sent the lude into a barrel roll (side to side) 1.5 times landing on it's roof.

Of course the Miata was unharmed but it's really not their fault. The green lude will most likely be at fault for following too closely. Kind of messed up the weekend as about half packed up that day and went home (Sat mid day of the 3 day event). TICC was already at the dragon wondering where everyone was and come to find out this is why no one really showed up.

TICC had a blast though...check out the pics...

Now that I thought about it..... If the green lude was following to close then there is know possible way it could of done that type of damage to the red lude! You say that it wasnt the miatas fault but none of this would of happened if dude wasnt "trying" to drift!

Jehu

You're right in a way but the law won't see it that way. The miata wasn't involved in the accident. The red lude lost it too and the green lude probably reacted later than the red lude so the red lude probably slowed down first/quicker.

Regardless, they all did something wrong. Miata drifting, red lude panicked, and the green lude was following too close.

He was following too close because he couldn't avoid the accident.

Exactly, but to me the bigger cause lies with the red lude. He did not have his car that long and panicked when the miata "went off the road". The red lude should have been able to easily brake to the left away from the miata and the green one follow him. Basically it boils down to inexpierence with the car and emergency situations.

Well even if the red car slammed on his brakes as hard as he could while sliding sidways then there is no way, it just dont match up, unless the red car was made out of card board!

I think the story has been changed somewhere! I was up there with a few friends and we were with Darryl(killboy) just watching some of the guys stroll through there, one dude just about lost it right in front of us. Just like we said before, If your in a car, there is know reason to show off for the camera cause you cannot really tell if you are going fast or not! lol.... seen one dude that stopped up the road and waited on a guy to get on past us so he could go fast by us like it would look good in a pic! We had to get on to some bimmer guys as well cause they were driving like tards...

Jehu

Actually, the miata went to the left. But I agree, more experience by the red lude driver could have saved all.

But the green lude played his part too. He shouldn't have been following that close to even have the chance to run into him short of the red one hitting a wall.

But this is all our opinions so what's it really worth? :)

There's too many variables to really say. The story/explanation I told was from a 3rd party behind these guys so I'd tend to believe it more than if one of the owners told it.

Maybe the guy in the red lude had better tires? Maybe the guy in the green one reacted too late?

Who knows?!

jus one of those thing that you had to been there I suppose!

ya, once i found the new pix, we figured out where it happened(near the dam), but someone did wreck on the dragon, so we just figured that must have been the car when it came by on the rollback, apparently the wreck at the state line was a different car ( we heard a 4th gen prelude wrecked too). Glad everyone's ok though!

i heard about this but atleast he didnt lose his life like the s2k guys did last year. People that go to the mountains need to understand how there car drives and also understand there are other people up there on the road too.

See, thats where I think the story has been changed!

I just cant see how....... If the dude was "FOLLOWING" so close like I have heard over and over do such damage to a car! The red car was hit "VERY" hard and if he was being FOLLOWED so close then there is no way it could of been that bad! I just think, that the red lude was coming from fontana, and the Green was coming from the gap! The red lost control coming out of the long sweeper slid sideways causing green to hit passenger side, hit the bank and flipped over! But then again its my opinion!

Also, I dont even think the Green lude made it to the gap, cause Darryl didnt see him up there all day!

Edit.....all morning!
