What are you wanting to do with them? I will be installing some Ef coilovers on my accord tomorrow using accord tophats, but at this point im not modifying mine.

why ef and not accord? i would assume that the spring rates would be softer since the civic is lighter.....ive got GC coilovers off my accord on my civic...rides smooth as ever with stock shocks....
as for the top hats you extend them to give the shock more travel after youve lowered the car...aftermarket top hats are a bit pricey for me at the moment so im looking into buildin some....my HT account is messed up so i cant search it over there where i saw it done.

Oh yeah its not hard at all. As for the ef coilovers is because its hard to find them for my car (86 Accord) and they were free. Here is a link to the carriage bolt mod, a guy on one of our forums did. This is a very good writeup and a great way to save your shock, whether it be a stock or aftermarket strut. Cheers.

thanx...the back i MIGHT try but it looks kinda iffy....the front wont work cuz i dont have that much clearance between the strut tower and hood...creative but not what i was thinkin...like i said the back i might try though since it looks inexpensive...couple bolts, piece a steel, looks simple enough.

What you can do is stack the tophats together in the case that you dont have eough clearance. Just cut the stud off and drill the holes out. and stack em together.

Where can I find extended aftermarket top hats, and how much to they actually cost?

You extend them to get more shock travel, the only ones ive ever seen are made by ground control, seems like they were around $140/set or so

My idea works its been done on a 3gee(accord), but you just have to find longer studs.
