I have heard it sucked, It has been getting really bad reviews, and if you like the show when it was on, I cant see you liking the movie, because the movie is nothing like how they were on the show ( I havent seen it yet but as a kid who grew up with that show, The previews alone show it will destroy what the show was built on )

I agree 100% with Brett. I grew up watching the show. Hell, most of the episodes were filmed right here in Covington, GA down the street from me. The infamous jumping scene in the opening credits was at Oxford U here in Covington. This movie, as with all remake movies of classic TV, will not do justice to the series. It may be a good/great movie, but it will not meet the standards of high fans of the original. Later, QD.

The Genral lee did not have opening doors as depicted in the Movie..That says it all for me I will wait for HBO it will be there in a few months...

the doors were not used in the show correct but they arnt used int he movie either except for the first 15 minutes........it was a pretty good movie IMO i will prolly buy it when it comes out on video. JS in the short shorts was NICE as well...i do agree with the skinny boss hog thing though...it was cool seeing atlanta and stuff in the movie though.

just got back from seeing it and i must say it was a lot better than I imagined. It may not be true to the original but it sure is a funny movie and just all around fun to watch.

there's 106 minutes of my life i can never get back. just sat through that horrible movie, and its sad too, I think sean william scott is a great actor, just not in this. Its sad when the best acting in this movie came from jessica simpson, who can't act. just my $.02

saw the movie last night, and I grew up watching Duke of Hazzard.....I didnt have high expectations for the movie because I know Johnny Knoxville isnt the greatest actor, more or a comedic relief type character, and then I saw Willie Nelson was gonna be Uncle Jesse...and Burt Reynolds was Boss Hog, to top it off...Jessica Simpson as Daisy? none of those are remotely close to their real counter-parts......so I knew if was just something to watch.

hell, the really only close character was Cooter.....at least that guy looked similar minus he didnt have a mullet....but still pretty good.

overall, the movie was enjoyable....once you get over the fact that it's not anywhere closely related to the tv series and just take it for what it is.....it's a good movie.....

another thing I noticed when I was leaving the theater...alot of people were saying it's just another dumb "redneck movie" or "trailer park trash kinda movie" ... I am willing to bet these same people think Smokey And The Bandit sucks too.....a-holes......

for what it was, it was entertaining.....and I'd watch it again on dvd.

so it's worth a look.

That is one of the many things wrong with this movie, Peter. All the main DOH characters were either crappy actors/actresses, didn't look anything like the original, or both. In most cases(Knoxville and Simpson just to name a couple) it was the crappy actors. If they changed all the characters names and the title of the movie and had it nothing to do with DOH, it might be worth watching. But I can't help but to compare it. Later, QD.

Yeah, the plot sucked which is why it got such low reviews. The acting was mediocre, but the movie is pretty much a never ending series of various car chases and the General Lee drifting through turns. I liked it for what it was, I'll probably get it for Christmas or something or just figure out a cheap way to get it.

Funny but as a Dukes wiz, I saw WAY too many obvious faults.
1. Boss Hogg wasnt fat, or nervous
2. Roscoe wasnt the usual idiot, or in a blue shirt
3. I love Jessica, but Daisy was a Brunette
4. Enos was...a perv now?!
5. Bo was always the ladies man, not Luke
6. Luke was never funny. Never
7. Where was Sheriff Little?
8. What about thier probation?
9. Uncle Jesse would have never cursed
10. What about Jesses committment to never make shine again, remember he made that pact w/ the " U.S. of A."
11. Cooter, well, he ws AWESOME now, he was avg good ole boy before.... that was a change for the better.
12. Why didnt Cooter tow the General when they wrecked it between the tractors, instead of walk/run 5 miles?!

All in all, I liked it, I'll buy the DVD, but it wasnt my Dukes of Hazzard...
