Earlier today, I was trying out how much it would help if I had purchased an exhaust for my car by taking the whole exhaust system off except the downpipe. Results are amazing! Car sounds hella mean, alot more HP&TQ are released especially in the high end range. It feels like a 12second car now! I'mma definitely get an exhaust system now since i'm impressed. But its going back to stock tomorrow.. Too good to last. Just wanted to share my day with yall. Peace:D

you do realize once you get an exhaust the HP/TQ increase will not be as much as running open down pipe

Thats why you open it in times of runnin a dyno and at the track even with the new turboback. It could be even more hp and tq potentially released..and plus i'd be tuned after all that. :goodjob:

If you get a well built exhaust you wouldn't need to run an open "header"(rolls eyes) at the track or the dyno. You would maybe only "free up" 5-10hp which would be more then compensated with driving abilities. Unless you can't drive then you'll need all the hp you can get.

Yea, I know that but some people still take off their exhaust for extra horses/torque and it helps during dyno and track days. Doing what I did just made me realize a few aspects. Learn something everyday... Appreciate though;)

That shiets loud ass heck..I couldn't even hear my buddy talkn to me when I was driving..hahah Pulls hella hard though...Luvn it! But I cant be rolling that loud everyday especially when family or the l8dies ride with you.. :goodjob: But there are disadvantages to running open dp though. Runs rich, I think it Messes up your braking also cause my braking is back to normal now since I bolted it back up. But forsure I'mma run open dp at the race track. Sooner or later, i'll get a tbe. :D

An electronic cutout is the best of both worlds... I've had one on my Lancer for 4yrs now.

make sure you dont start melting stuff when you do that.

sometimes it sounds faster but really isnt. dyno before you do it.

and if you plan on doing this, get a cut out so its easy to open it up at the track.

A cutout? Where can I get this done @? Muffler shop! Noticed my gasket was bad & its a ***** puttn the exhaust on & off. I don't think anything has been melting.. Sounds faster & IS faster especially because its turbocharged. Rpm's & speed rise alot quicker; especially top end. When I put my exhaust back on, it felt slow then.. But yea, that cutout sounds convenient. Let me know how and where and how much it costs.. thanks
