The S2000 CR will be available as an entirely new S2000 trim level when it goes on sale in the fall of 2007. The lighter, stiffer and more aggressive overall design is engineered to maximize the S2000's potential on a racetrack with the goal of substantially-improving track times, chassis balance and feel. The factory-tuned roadster provides highly-aggressive suspension settings, increased body and chassis rigidity, overall weight reduction and an aerodynamic body kit dialed-in for reduced lift. An aluminum hardtop replaces the convertible soft top as standard equipment.

Widely considered the quintessential roadster-style sports car, the S2000 is the performance icon for the Honda brand and combines uncompromising racetrack-ready performance with everyday usability. The S2000 rewards driving enthusiasts with a potent 2.2-liter, 16-valve DOHC VTEC 4-cylinder engine and a precise, short throw 6-speed manual transmission, along with tenacious handling and a perfect 50/50 weight balance.

The renowned high-revving engine delivers 237 horsepower at 7,800 rpm and 162 lb-ft. of torque at 6,800 rpm. Perfectly complimenting the engine's output characteristics is a compact, longitudinally-mounted, close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission that features a direct linkage for precise shifting and quick throws. Combined with a front and rear double wishbone suspension, precise electric power steering, and a torque-sensing limited slip differential, the end result is a complete, no compromise, performance package for the enthusiast driver.

I like the first yellow one personally.

Lol, its a N/A honda, its not fast enough to really need it. Besides the wing, lip, and the fact that it sits higher than my grandmothers Expedition, I like it. Soooo really I'll just take a regular s2k.

oh and the wheels are terrible. Did they steal them off a rental car?

One we got into the state of Florida, the car that we saw the most was the S2000 lol.....I don't think I've ever seen that many before.

A lot of them had what looks like that wing, but at highway speeds going the opposite direction, I can't tell you if it was the CR or whatever....

R3RUN
01-31-2008, 11:33 AM
Probably not, they have the smaller wing thats a factory option. I really don't see that many in Tampa but thats because I live in the ghetto. All I see is donks and all I hear at night is gunfire in my apartment complex. lol.

I think I read somewhere that the CR's are just basically exactly the same as a base model except for suspension differances. Either way id stick with an 02 S2000

It's either they do it at the factory, or they let the third owner desecrate them by taking fuel efficient family cars and turning them into "race" cars.

And by race car I mean they make a lot of noise from "breathing" mods like three inch exhaust....but to free up power you have to first have power to free up.

hrmmm... i really like the sh preludes. looks pretty good. whats wrong with their atts?

So no one cares about function over form anymore? Every lip and spoiler you see on the car has been tested to be aerodynamically beneficial. Every bit of suspension touched was beneficial. All they way down to the tires. The car was not built to be an autox car. But more so a track car. Those aero enhancements aren gonna do much for you on an autox course. But dont get me wrong the car is ugly as ****. Its jacked, the wheels are ugly, that cover looks really gay, and the spoilers and wings...........eh it sucks. Unfortunately honda went the wrong direction on this one. They took a home run hit, and fouled it. Ya its ugly but it is functional to say the least. They would have made a killing if it were lowered and without the stupid lip kit. Something tells me you will see lots of these.........setup just like that.

The ATTS is a PITA once you reach 250BHP, for that it is widely ridiculed. I like the ATTS though, it lets the back end be happy on track days.

The new Si is pretty fun i'll agree, nice lil car but nothing better then a 97 Ek with a boosted type R in it!

CR=BS, i'll take an 06 White sitting on silver/gold BBS LM's

Honda killed the prelude when the 4th gen (aka accord coupe) came out. 3rd gen and 5th gen FTW.

The only cars that honda does motor changes to are the Type R's. Do you not realize that 240hp NA in a car thats sold to the public is a lot. Think about it, they have to build the motor for any jackass to drive. Thats like having a 420hp 350z for the s2k's hp/litre.
