so there was one on here a while ago, and I think the damn thread hit 100 pages or something.
so check these vids out. mythbusters is even doing their next show on it.
here is the background question...
Assuming that there was a long enough, large enough treadmill that would spin at exactly the same speed as the wheels of a plane, would the plane be able to take off, or would it sit in one place?
It turned into a huge argument of the plane going nowhere vs. the plane taking off, but here's a couple of videos to explain and show you.
The first video will be a demonstration, the second will be the explanation of the physics behind it.
I'm only bringing this up because apparently they're testing this with a real plane on the next Mythbusters. :)
