SLOW internet... and i mean S-L-O------W

Well I just got a laptop.... (not new, got it from a friend) ...so anyway here at the house we have cable, and i got a network adapter so now i'm connected to the network.

Only problem is... the webpages load slow as hell, and when i download stuff (like firefox for example) it will only download 2-4 KB/Sec... everyone else here has normal d/l speeds sooo.....

try running a bandwidth test... and then try the same test after you disconnect the modem from the network and hit it straight to the laptop... or just get a better router.

Check the bandwidth or ping your ip address! If you running a wireless network then somebody might be tagging on to your system! Or just a cheap router!
