I got a radiator recently and the overflow tube is broken but sealed with a teflon tape and bolt and hold water fine I just dont think its safe to run without an overflow attached. After running the car to operating temp and turning it off you can hear it seeping air out of the cap because it has nowhere for the pressure to go. Any thoughts on this/??

i dont know all the synonyms but overflow, you mean the reservoir where antifreeze goes in or get sucked out from? if so.. use a bottle... and run a line to the bottle.. dont seal it up because it might build up alot of pressure then blowing ur radiator.

You cant do that when the radiator overflow tube is broken and sealed off thats the whole issue. It holds water but there is no way to put an overflow jug on this radiator because of this. Every car Ive ever owned has had one or something rigged up in its place but the guy I got the radiator from said it would work that way just not sure how. Seems the pressure has to go somewhere .

get a new radiator and be done with it

call 1800RADIATOR they're the best priced, they deliver to your house, and they give you a bag of candy hehe.

they're my first call when i price out a radiator for a customer at my shop. they're lifetime warranty as well if that tells you anything about their credibility

So why do they always give out candy? lol Seems like a way to cover up something to me. Like, here you go, heres a bag of candy since our radiators suck so much ass. lol

they have a lifetime warranty, and they're either the OE company that made the radiator that came in your car when it was purchased with 0 miles from the dealership or it's an aftermarket company that made it to meet or exceed OE specifications. in 3 years at my shop with all the radiators we've sold, we've gotten 1 defective one, and they had another one here within the hour as well as gave us a substantial credit for the inconvenience on our next purchase.

they're actually a very professional company, and don't do stuff like jb weld cracks and screw bolts in radiator necks so you can't hook up a coolant resivoir =]

some people buy used parts and cross their fingers.....some people buy new parts and don't give it another thought, other people ask for help, then criticise the most helpful suggestion because they're too cheap to resolve their problem the right way. ya know?
