you cant just "wrap" a bumper in carbon...
do you have any idea what your talking about?

Tell me why? It is no different than taking a piece of plastic and fiberglassing over it? All you have to do is wrap the carbon fiber cloth over it and rosen over it then gel coat it. I know that there is more to it than that but that is the gist of it.

not really....
you have to lay the carbon onto the mold (in this case, the bumper) and then bag it properly according to the type of carbon your using, and bake it in an autoclave under ALOT of pressure and heat.

There are other ways to work with Carbon!!
R2B2 motors from the thread ^^

so...wrapped in CF? that just sounds stupid. Instead of actually have a CD part and being lighter and stronger, you just want to add CF so it is actually making the car heavier......yea that sounds logical.

I think if your going for just the look of Carbon, then it's somewhat easier
to get the same effect.
I would think it would cost a liit. less to wrap a part in it, as to buy
the part that was taken from the mold from, Thats where
the cost of carbon products go up!!

do your thing man...its going to look good either way. Some people get wrapped because a part is not as readily available as a civic cf bumper, hood, mirror, etc.

Alright just to settle some confusion here, my whole car with the exception of the rear quarter panels is carbon fiber and that includes JDM Type R Front clip( Fenders,Hood,Front Bumper,Front Lip,Side skirts,Roof,Doors,Door Handles,Hatch,Rear Metal Fill Piece,Rear JDM Lip,Door Panels) all of the windows have been replaced with FAL Lexan, and everything in the car is JDM Type R. I have too much invested in this car to not have it perfect the way I want it. If you don't like what I am doing kiss my white ass, all I wanted was some help with a simple matter and I got it thanks to Bucky and I will be sure to post pics soon b/c none of you had the motivation to follow through with what you can possible do with a car.
Japan4Racing much love I will get at you when I get a free minute to go to the track I still need a trailer. Be ready to lose b/c my car is scary fast but I still got to get ED to do a quick tune back to GA climate before I run her.
Skinny you saw the pieces off the car you need to come back down and look at her now she is completely put together...the carbon fiber car that is, He also saw my race car and I still have a stain on the front bumper from where he blew a load when I reved it up.
Trymy4.0 get an Import if you are going to be on an Import Forum.
People once again customizing a car is an expression of self like a painting I will do what I like and want you do what you like and want if you don't like what I am doing that is your opinion and everyone knows that opinions are like assholes everyone has one. Not everyone wants to see it.
Thank you to those who helped and get a life to those who did not!

but berta has an oem built bottom end and some valves and head work up top. for $8g's i could toss you a bottom end, head, trans, and turbo set-up. you gotta remember i aint got no toys r us ****. and most of it is brand new never used. i wont go into details on it since im sure you wont buy it and i dont really wanna sell...but just for the hell of it i would take $8g's for what is listed and if you want the rest of the parts for the swap we can talk after the fact! alot of ppl doubt me and dont think i got anything going on but be rest assured i got more than your average macon car sitting here at the house.

umm...No. lol. I had an import and have been on this site WAY longer than you. Dont go by the join date, ive been here before that. :tongue1:
this site isnt about ONLY imports. Its about the coming together for car lovers across GA.

True it is about car lovers but that is no reason to bash one's dream and design on a build. A car is a blank canvas waiting for the artist to sculpt it into his vision not everybody elses. I wish everyone could look at a car from the owners eyes and see that it is what they wanted and might not be what you want or like. And the sight is called importatlanta.com not carloversofatlanta.com and I have been on here longer than you think as well. SO you stay away I stay away unless you got something positive to say. Okay!
