Hey i got my money for my motor build and kit. i will be making more than 350 to the floor. wondering should i change to a coilover setup or keep the kyb's and tein springs to help better when she squats?

By halfbaked requested does this mean you'd like my input?

Because Jay is laughing if thats the case because he knows I drive a sentra with blown suspension.

I'd just get some tein coilovers. They aren't to expensive and would probably be your best bet for finding the spring rate you want.

WTF? Halfbaked is fucking retarded and doesn't know the difference between a spring and a strut! :D

If you want to spend some money for something road race orientated, look into Advanced Design. If you are just for going in a straight line, stock will work fine. Of course I'm assuming you have a sentra?

So when are you guys going to fight?

no i have a 240. i asked for halfbaked cuz hes one of the guys that know about 240s that probably wouldnt try to make a gay comment after i posted. and i am more of a straight line guy. so i might try my hand at the setup i am on now and then maybe switch later. thanks ppl

I have coil overs. They're cheap and easy.

Go with the kts coilovers, or megan or hks, or tein. I would go kts cause they are the cheapest to rebuild if you need on rebuilt.

Yea just keep what you have right now and see how that works for you. If it isn't to your liking you can always change.

I'm almost at the point where I don't wanna spend any money on the motor for a while and just focus on making my car handle and stop.

Koni shocks and your choice of springs/coilovers...

MMMM d2 coilovers.

Definately what I'll be buying when I get coilovers for the se-r.

Those or k-sports.

If you are mainly doing straight line go with the KYB/TEIN. 99% of the coilover setups are way too stiff for straight line. D2's are crappy IMO after replacing 3 sets on different 240s in the last 4 months I wouldn't recommend them. Flysi00 you are the only person I know that likes their D2's, but it also sounds like you just got them. Stick with the Tein setup and you should be more than fine...

flysi00, 2 days ago you posted wanting to know the answer to this question, and now you're saying you have D2's a day later?

your right a while back everyone was telling me to get some coil overs so i did but then i was reading on some other forums that i could just use my kybs and tein springs for what i wanted to do. so i was just asking what should i do should i ago ahead and put my D2 on or should i stay with my kyb's with teins

its to late now i already installed the D2 they ride fine and my kybs with tein springs are up for sell now.

Let me know in a few months how you feel about the D2's. Everyone that I've heard that dislikes them has an s14.

What do people who have the d2s say bad about them?

The fwd guys love them. I've never heard a complaint about them out of b13 drivers.

Well for the s13 I heard that they are good coilovers but for the s14 I heard that they are not. When they first came out everyone was complaining about the rear coilover for the s14. You couldn't get them to adjust low enough. And I'm not talking slammed low but low enough to get rid of some wheel gap. From what I remember it was like the coilover wasn't long enough for the s14 so you had to take it down past the last groves on the coilover. But they may have fixed that by now.

there's a general concensus that the dampers are so so at best, oversprung/underdamped, some dynos show that they're not very digressive... but I have no first hand experience so take that with a grain of salt. For the price it doesn't seem you're getting a bad deal.
