HKS Kansai has made some considerable progress on two of the most popular JDM export cars from Japan.

The cars were modified in the suspension department and the engine got some upgrades.

The EVO X went from stock 288ps to 383.2ps. This was achieved by improving the piping on the turbo, a new intake manifold, and a new engine management. the car also benefits from alot of body reinforcement. It had extensive bracing throughout the entire car

This car was made by HKS as a study model for Mitsubishi. The cars nickname is Camp what stands for ‘Computerized Automobile Multi Player’. Not sure what it means, but what I do know is that it has a flatscreen mounted in the rear door window. Maybe it comes in handy when your in heavy traffic and want to show something to the guy next to you.

The car itself looks very good with it’s colour coded carbon touches and gold Advan RS rims.

The Subaru went from stock 305.6ps to 330.8ps. This was almost done purely by upgrading the electronic components. so you see how much can be done when you go for a new engine management. The Subaru also got alot of braces in the rear and the front of the car to make it more rigid.

http://news.windingroad.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/evoxhl.jpg (http://news.windingroad.com/car-buying/mitsubishi-announces-2008-lancer-evo-gsr-pricing/)

Mitsubishi has announced pricing for its 2008 Lancer Evo (http://news.windingroad.com/car-buying/japan-report-car-top-tests-sti-and-evo/) GSR. If what you’re looking for is a bare bones, back-to-basics driving machine, Mitsubishi (http://news.windingroad.com/concept-cars/mitsubishi-concept-ra-sketches-ahead-of-detroit-auto-show/) will ask you for $32,990, and then send you barreling down the road. If what you require is a tad on the fancy side, well, the options add up nearly as fast as the Evo X accelerates. (http://news.windingroad.com/body-stylesmarket-segment/sportsgts/2007-la-auto-show-lancer-evo-x-makes-its-north-american-debut/)

At $2,000 the “Sight, Sound, and Spoiler” package will buy you quite a bit. Tick that box and your Evo will come with a premium Rockford-Fosgate sound system, Siruis radio, FAST key entry system, HID headlights, and a “large” rear spoiler. Not bad.

Slightly less of a value is the $1,999 you’ll spend to add a 30-gig hard drive navigation system. There’s also an aero kit that comes with front, side, and rear air dams, as well as a spoiler extension for another $2,000.

Click on the gallery of images below to remind yourself why the Evo X is worth it at most any cost, and then click through the jump to read all of the details in Mitsubishi’s press release.

i love both of them, the evo has a very aggressive look and i've liked it ever since the prototype came out, and i love the sti because it look more "sophisticated compared to the GD chasis. But i HATE the new wrx and impreza's, the wide fenders for the sti i think work very well imo.

I'm waiting for the judging on performance by Top Gear next season

yea the jdm sti gets some very nice recaros while we get these stools. I'm sure the sti is faster in a straight line but what im interested is the STIG taking both around a track

i think the evo seats look pretty sick, but for the rest of the interior i think the sti has the upper hand. i'm not a fan of that sst either, i love good ol' fashion manual transmission, you feel so engaged into the drive

the new evo doesnt flow...the taillights look retarded...like an afterthought. also i think the new all aluminum engine doesnt have the nuts of the 4g63. as mentioned its a porker. I do actually like the interior over the sti. however believe it or not i like the exterior of the sti better. w/ red taillamps, suspension and a lip etc. the car looks bangin

yea, i forgot who made it but theres a red and white overlay cut out for the rear tails, but im pretty impressed by the numbers the evo put out with those mods
