Anyone using tokico hp's???

Im think im gonna go with the skunk 2 springs. There super soft i know but can't beat the price. I had them on my dc w/ kyb agx struts. I liked them but really soft! Just want a decently priced fun setup. Full coilovers will come :ninja: when im not so damn broke! lol

Ive heard bad things about the gr2's. Short life and same or worse as stock.

I wonder if the h&r's are similar to the Skunk2s as far as spring rate goes? I know they are the same drop which can lead to shorting the life of a strut... :thinking:

hp's are your upgrade from stock. they're stiffer than stock, and give better handlling but they're not tein's or jic's or straight up track worthy. gr2's are just stock replacements, so they're not an upgrade.

do they make tockico illumina's or kyb m's for ur car, they're 5 way adjustable, or even some koni's for that matter.

they're great for the ride height that you're at right now.
i have 3 blown HPs but that's probably due to all the recent slammage i've been doing.
but it rode and felt great when i was at a moderate ride height like yourself. :goodjob:

I know they make the adj kyb agx's my car but im not looking to spend 20-30 more bucks per strut. I really would like to go full coilover but i have alot of other things to spend on.

I would personally get the Illuminas because I've gone through HP, Illumina, and HTC short-strokes on the AE86 and the Illuminas were the best bang for buck. Plus they're adjustable opposed to the HPs like ZUL8R said above ^^

im runnin eibach pro dampers with s2 springs. they ride really well...

got hp's on mine, w/ neuspeed sport springs, 2.0F 1.8R <<<< drop rate, and they seem to work great. they feel a little stiffer. They're definatly not the best you can buy, but if you're only @ a moderate drop, then they should hold up pretty well.

if i could buy a different seuspension set-up, i would get ground control coilovers with kyb's or something..

I would rather go cheaper now and go full coilovers later. Just don't see spending a huge amount of money when other things need to be addressed. thanks everyone that replied!

if you go that route, you'll send $300 on a set of struts, and then spend $700+ later down the road... just do it right the first time dude, thats just my opinion...

Well as of right now i can get springs and struts for roughly 380 bucks. I really would like to go full coilover but its way out of my budget. Im a firm believer of doing right the first time but im not trying to build a race car persay right now so a decent set of struts will suit me. :yes: Im just tired of riding around on stock suspension! But the alternative would be to cut oem springs and ride out till the shocks bust. But im not gonna do that! :no:

Why not get the Skunk2 Sport Shocks, they are designed to work to with Skunk2 Lowering Springs?
