Who's using what and why? I think I used Turbotax the past couple of years, but I'm not positive. Debating which one I want to use this time. Opinions people, lets hear them.

I did H&R Block online for $20 with 5 day direct deposit for the last 3 years. No problems. Since I'm trucking now, I have to visit a CPA. Later, QD.

Just dont finish the last step and just try both and see which one is giving you more money, (OMG CAN YOU DO THAT!?!?)

You probably pay for it before hand or how much you're getting is the last page. That sounds too simple.

i say tax act, used them last 2 years. i do them on my own. with taxact my refunds came out to be 4k in fed, 250 in state. with turbo me fed refund came to be 1100. i dont know if i messed something up or not but i wasnt confused by anything on there so i dont know what the deal is. so either a taxact gets you a better refund, or be taxact is easier to fill out. either way i like them and ill be sticking with them. i filed state and federal feb 23rd, i received my accepted email for the federal the same day, i got my state accepted email the next day. site said i wouldnt get either one for 3 days. i did direct deposit for my refunds and the chart is saying ill get my refund back the 1st

I've used tax act for the 2nd year. You should come out with the same refund or underpayment using both. If you get 2 different figures you did something wrong. I like taxact because it's cheaper, and it's simple to use.

I did my taxes with TurboTax as I did last year. Print my papers to mail and the Federal says, "Because Congress was late passing some tax legislation, the IRS has requested that you mail your tax return on or after February 11, when they will be ready to process it."

Anyone else have this on the 1st page?

Are you holding off on filing until the date? I was going to mail the Federal in today, but I don't have a copy of my W-2 on hand (printer down FTL). I'll probably just hold off until that date since it's already been like 10 days since I finished my taxes

I sure hope it doesn't take forever to get the $$$$

If you are having different refunds on them, you filled out something wrong. You should come out with the same number, it's just that one may give you more pointers than the other.

How come you didn't e-file?

Will the IRS still wait until FEB. 11th to file :???:

I didn't want to pay the $20 or $30 :gay:

How come you didn't e-file?

I decided to pay the $17.95 an efile. It's total BULL$hit Turbotax charges you to efile :blah: I just want my f**kin $$$$ to pay off a credit card

Just finished with TurboTax, only getting a refund of $232, thankfully I had capital losses, cause before that I was owing like $500 LOL.

all i know is i used tax act, filed the 23rd for fed and state, set up direct deposit for both, both were accepted later on the 23rd for one and the 24th for the other, and i got my taxes back today (supposed to get them tomorrow, but all payments from any govt. agency comes in a day earlier for me because i have a govt bank account, dont know why it does that.)

and on top of all that, it was all gone withing 3 hours of me being off work. i love paying off loans/cards

I have a CPA that works for an Aerospace company now, used to run the IRS for Cali... Gotta love the family hook-ups. Does mine for free every year.
