Hey Simon, what all do you have to have(cage, helmet, etc.) in order to track your car? Do you have certain class regulations? I want to start tracking my car either this year or next.

For PDX just a safe car, like a street legal car. Convertables have to have SCCA approved roll bar, be an SCCA member, helmet, that's about it. Good tires, no leaks, etc.

well the z is going to be out of comission for a long while now. I developed an antifreeze leak down my block, so i took my valve cover off to re-torque teh head, and i looked down and see the top of a head stud rolling around under my rocker arms. man 2008 is not off to a good start.

Rusty this thing is definitely a project. The body is pretty good for a 79 but it runs like a scalded dog. 302 carb'd with a C-4 trans and seems to be solid. The interior needs some TLC and will need some paint to look really good.

I will get a few shots of it asap.

This will be a badazz car within 2 months if I don't sell/trade it within a few weeks.

Most of the time people do body swaps only and use the running gear, engine and what not for the rest of the build. My guess on those tires would be either a BB or SB Ford/Chevy/Dodge power plant. A small engine with a turbo would have a hard time turning those tires. Not knocking imports but that's where cubic inches really make a difference.
