help me decide what color to paint wheels

ok so me and my buddie are painting our rims tomorrow at school....
hes going with gold..hes got a white 350z (VQ35 Star)
and i want to paint mine black color match them to my car..
hes telling me gold would look sooo much better..
so what do all you guys think?
black or gold..
oh and the lip would stay chrome

well the reason i want to paint them is just cause i want to black the whole outside of the car out...
like with the extra clear i have im gunna add a couple drops of black to it and black out all the lil blinker lights, taillight,etc.

oh and i cant go back now i just got done scuffing them up with scotchbright...:( so now they are flat grey....but it looks nice...i bet flat black wouldnt look to bad:ninja:

great minds think alike. That's what I'd own on an unlimited budget. Same wheel pattern as you have now (inspired by the Spirit R edition myself).

Make sure to take the damn wheel of the car if your going to do anything with it. Your just going to get a sloppy job if you dont.

I would've left the wheels alone and worried about more important aspects of the car. Ie your COILOVERS!

hahah yeah yeah the only reason im doing this is because i go to school for automotive collision repair and we have 2 paint booths and just work on body work and paint cars all day long..lol
and we can work on our own cars for pretty much free..lol
so i decided why not paint my wheels..lol
then my whole car..lol

haha, I'd be fine with that so long as it gets done sometime. I'm not picky either, 13B, if you're reading htis I am 100% serious and I'd take whatever color is lying around the shop(silver, red, white, black, yellow, green, orange, w/e) so long as it can't be described using the words "neon, pink, or flat/satin" I also have some dings/dents, and a front passenger fender that is misaligned maybe an inch.

oh and as far as the painting......see the only thing i pay for is the mateerial...
so that is all you guys would have to pay for...and its not much....for the roof...really cheap...for whole car it depends..but let me talk to my instructor and let me see what i can work out with him:goodjob:

cool, it can be a practice car if need be, like I said I'd be flexible with any spare paint so any color is fine. You have no idea how much crap my mom, best friend, and girlfriend give me about this paint.

lol the instructer does not take vehicles from people for us to use as a practice cars, belive me you are not the only one who has asked. he will only let us do legit stuff for people who will pay for ALL of the material cost and SHOP USE cost which is always $150 for painting a vehicle.

99 front end

99 spoiler
some different wheels.
and lower it..

Materials include (average)
-Masking Tape
-Paper
-Plastic Filler (if body work is needed)
-Primer
-Primer Activator
-Base Coat
-Clear Coat
-Clear Coat Activator
-Reducer
-5 Mixing Cups
-5 Strainers
-1 tack cloth
-Plastic cover
-Laquer Thinner
-Sand Paper (depending on body work, you will need 80 grit/180/320/400

And you must, MUST buy the whole thing, like a whole can of bondo, they do not sell little bits of things, except paint you can get 0.25pint to 10quarts. a quart normally runs about $35.00, and clear coat you must buy in quarts.
