Its not a shop car really.

Its Dans Race car, a race car that has to have a roll call for SPONSORS that contributed to the build.

Isn't the exhaust just like 4" straight all the way back from the turbo? I'm just trying to recall from the build thread on wrxatl. Looks amazing though. What're the plans for it now that SEMA is t3h ov3rz?

so Konig isnt giving you those awesome wheels? You'd think they would give you cool wheels to show off so all the mad tyte drifters would want a set for themselves. If i had a Kouki, i would possibly get those wheels.

The old wheels looked like updated Monsoons, which by far is one of the ugliest wheels Konig ever made.

The old wheels looked like updated Monsoons, which by far is one of the ugliest wheels Konig ever made. They're all supplied by Konig, you ever trailered or towed a car before? Doesn't look like there is enough room to get "over the tire straps" on so they may have to run them through the wheel to fully secure the car...I have no idea, just taking a guess. You drive 3/4th the way across the country you don't exactly want the mirror polished finish on the brand new wheels scratched and ruined when hauling...not to mention when loading & unloading the car.

Looks good overall, but why doesn't the hood fit? Looks like its just sitting a little high...Most likely to help vent the hot air...you have two big snails under your mustangs hood don't you?

Hachi,
Just whoring it up like you and also posting my opinion :) No need for me to "summer down", I'm already summered. If you expect more from a shop car, it makes me wonder if you have ever been to SEMA or anything of it's caliber. Most of the cars at SEMA don't even run (I'd even be willing to say 80%). They get pushed in and out. I think you would be surprised to see some of the craftsmanship up close, also.

other questions:
*The wheels just get thrown on when we have to move stuff around at the shop. We have at least 3 different styles of wheels for the 240's. Whatever is closest gets put on.
*Yes. There are a lot of stickers. Trust me, we are well aware. You think we like stickers? Id much rather have nice, clean BASF paint shining thru. Not to mention that it took like 3 entire days to cut, weed and put the stickers on with like 7 people helping. This has been mentioned and addressed in this thread also. They will change before the season starts. They will get smaller and lots of them will be removed. Who knows, it still may be overwhelming, but we are trying to change it if we can. The thing is, sponsor pay for stickers and we like sponsors...so it's a catch 22.
*The exhaust question has also been answered. We made it like that so if someone rams Dan again, they will mess up their intercooler or radiator.
*The hood looks like that because it alows hot air escape easier. There are obvious cooling issues when it comes to drifting, so we use lots of measures to help with that.

Please feel free to ask any other questions and I will gladly answer them for you. If you are a smart Alec about it, expect a smart Alec response :)

Love,
Tracy

The actual number of stickers doesn't bother me... it's the layout. It's like you guys just decided to play pin the tail on the 240.

Hrrmmmmm. I hear ya. We are by no means graphic designers. We build purpose built cars, not pimp my ride cars. IMO, the stickers have little to do with the craftsmanship...but I do hear ya and agree. We are working with a designer for next years scheme...so maybe it will be better. Just have to keep in mind that certain contracts insist on size and placement.

Hey, it took us 3 days to put stickers on the car, about 7 people helped

Tracy and my girlfriend spent 10pm-6am WEAVING STICKERS, dan spent more than that designing and printing the logos.

The decals are over the top, but if you have a sponsored race car you would know why. They want exposure! alot of people contributed to the build so we had to dedicate space to them.

oh, and every sticker is actually 2 stickers.

theres a white backround and a black sticker on top of it. so count them all up and multiply by 2Some were even more than 2 layers of vinyl! It may not look as good as an unlimited budget ALMS car or a $1,000,000 drift teams but considering the time and money spent on this car there's not too many around that can do much better short of a professionally made vehicle wrap for alot more $$$.

The car was literally completely assembled in days, I know I got 2 hours of sleep one night then Dan and I were the only two that didn't go to sleep at all the following night before it was done and ready to go on the trailer...72+ hours and 2 hours of sleep. :screwy:

Function over form. There's plenty beauty in it. Why have a fmic right behind the bumper. Jesus, it gets drifted so protect vital components by putting them by the radiator support PLUS short roue piping for the win.

The exhaust sticks out because...
a) puts a hole in someones intercooler when they decide to be a sore loser and f*** up again.
b) It helps keep the rich exhaust off the metallic tri-coat pearl paint.
c) It's shiney and people seem to like polished & chrome things.

Lots of e-drama over a car that went to SEMA... Which is mostly a show off of crap... Look in the pics from the show... I see some 40" wheels on a magnum...

Everyone calm down...
