Well, here we have it, guys ---> SEDD08!

I have some exciting sponsor news as soon as I get confirmed details! I'll update the thread when I do!

Hey everyone! I'd like to welcome you to our 8th annual SouthEast Drag Day 2008! Hosted by Georgia 3/S (http://www.3si.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=79) and SELOC (http://www.seloc.net/). The event will be held on Sunday, March 2nd @ Silverdollar Raceway (htp://www.silverdollarraceway.com/). The caravan will leave the Varsity downtown (http://www.thevarsity.com/) @ 8am. The track gates will open at 10am, racing begins at 11am, qualifying for the Quick 8 will start around 1.30pm, and eliminations for the Quick 8 will start between 3pm and 4pm.

SouthEast Drag Day was started as an event that provided a legal and safe place for friends and enthusiasts to grudge match, tune, and compete in the Quick 8 competition. The Quick 8 competition is for the quickest street legal cars to compete for cash prizes. There are rules to be in the Quick 8, please check them out on the website: www.southeastdragday.com (http://www.southeastdragday.com/). Also, please be aware of NHRA rules for drag racing if you are racing inside or outside of the Quick 8; helmets, long sleeves, closed toed shoes, roll cage requirements, etc.

If you have any questions, please email [email protected] ([email protected])!

Hey I just wanted to say I went to the last one in my M3 and these guys were some of the coolest people to hang out with. We had the whole track to ourselves that day (about 25 of us only) and it was just unlimited track time and the best meet/social/drag day I have ever been to. I wish I could go to this one but i'll be at Road A. that day doing my thing. I wish ya'll could change it to the weekend after I know I could bring atleast 5 other cars with me.

I've managed to go almost every year - but almost always was in a RX7. This is the first year where I don't have one at all to bring - unless I get the old white FC up and running. It hasn't been on a track since 01.

So we need to have a helmet? Where can I find the rules?

Standard NHRA rules apply.

Quicker than 14.00 and you need a helmet and no passengers is the main rule they enforce.

There are Roll cage rules as well. 11.49 and quicker "needs" a roll cage.

If the battery is located in the cabin, it must be in a certified battery box and you "need a master shutoff switch on the rear of your vehicle."

Sorry Im a n00b.

The net is the best place, but if time constraints are an issue then any motorcycle shop will get you a helmet that is permissable for drag racing. For the occasional recreational dragger, that's the easiest and least expensive way to go. :goodjob:

Just borrow someone's motorcycle helmet and register....save your money and spend it on race gas there.....;) :goodjob:

Come on people....I know yall are procrastinators, but damn!!!!

You get to race all day until you get tired for $25???? Come on, it don't get any cheaper than that. They usually also have the scales open, so you can stop that arm chair mag racing guessing about how heavy or light your car really is. They also have several grades of race fuel available to keep you from grenading your stuff.

Come on.....isn't this where I hear people complaining all the time that there are not enough places to race so they HAVE TO street race????? Here you are with a chance to do it w/o losing your license. Don't pass it up.
