"Chinese military analysts favor age-old schoolyard wisdom: Throw the first punch and hit hard."

Those clever Chinamen.

This is a strategy we in the military say: "It briefs well in theory, but in the real world application, it will fail."

Why would it fail?

If one country were to launch nuclear weapons, the ensuing result is M.A.D. aka Mutual Assured Destruction; because of the all the interconnecting links/pacts between countries.

i agree with one thing.... the US public is overly sensitive to war casulaties... (sp?) its war... looking back on any other war/conflict/battles this is definately not the worst by far!

war on terror death toll estimation -14,000

WWII death toll in american - 400,000

and we are no where near that and we are alot closer in time frame... so its a war people. deaths suck i agree not demoralizing it @ all but come on... 14k VS 400K....

Not sure if you are including civilians as well in the WoT Death Toll.

US Military Death Toll is @ 3930 at the moment.

very true, especially considering more people die in car accidents in this country in a year than we've lost in the whole war!!! dont want any soldier to die, and i've lost a couple buddies over there. :2cents:

could be including the deaths from 9/11

but i still doubt it is that high even with all the deaths on 9/11

With the 9/11 deaths, it would a little over 6900.
