When I was little I remember wanting an RC plane so bad, but my dad wouldnt let me. Now I am older and can actually buy the stuff. I looked around on eBay and Craigslist and your average 4-6 channel Futaba radio goes for around $100 and they sometimes come with recievers and servos. I dont know of any locations nearby that would be suitable for large models so i was thinking about the micro planes. ones that are like 1 ft long and are slow and use small electric engines. So in your honest opinion whats the best way for someone to get into the hobby? Im not really looking to spend a fortune. And I dont want one of those Ready To Fly packages that use a specific radio and reciever that can only be used for that 1 plane (example: Aerobird, had one of those).

So what brands and versions of radios and reciever to look out for? servos, electric engines....

ive always wanted a big gas engined one, but i cant afford that **** now. so what i did was go to target and get an aero ace by air hogs. they are fun, and moddable. probably not what you want, but still fun nonetheless.

I have a few Helis - online RTFs are cheaper than Hobbytown. But Hobbytown u get them TODAY.

do a search for RTF planes - start out w/ electric - then graduate to gas. GOod luck.
