...will I buy from OGSkinny. U guys remember that LS Swap? I kno u never saw it, but I bought it. And yes... I drove it home, yes it was running rich and cost me $100 in gas to get home. Turns out it DID have a TPS sensor, so my bad for that one, but... what he didnt tell me is that the motor itself has lots of blow by and its overfueling. #1 piston is failing... car runs worse than the other motor I had in it, it knocks, smokes, gas in the oil... all that.
So I may be gettin outta game like I shoulda did in the first place. Maybe one day I'll be back in it and drive to GA if the EFSquad still exists, but this is to much. I spent $1400 on this motor for nothing. I...I just dont kno what to do.
He sold me a POS motor, so once again. I'ma be out of alotta money and cant drive anywhere.
So I'm outta the game. Later guys.

It's REALLY cheap to get a motor rebuilt to OEM spec. Go see Josh at SlowMotion and see what he's got for you. He's easy to work with.

I'm out of money now... and I'm in Ohio and I doubt the motor would take me back to GA. Unless tax time blesses me or something. I cant afford it. I'll just have to abuse the college loan system, though I dont want to.
EDIT: I forgot about ur dude in Cinci. But still, thats 100 miles from me.

Have you done a compression test? hard to blame a bad motor without one.
1) Do a compression test
2) Calibrate TPS sensor
3) Check Ignition Timing
4) Change spark plugs
Until you do that, i wouldnt be thinking the motor is BAD.

Lets find out where to start... The motor RAN Perfect when i delieverd it to you. I didn't expect you to weave in and out of traffic at an estimated 85-95 mph WHEN I CAME AND GOT YOU. I say estimated because he knew the Speedsensor was working in the car.
1. I stayed up for hours on end working on your car 2 days straight to get you home.
2. I TOLD you the speed sensor would throw a check engine light. CEL's will WASTE GAS. No way around it.
3. When the **** did it knock? I wouldn't of sold it.
4. How the **** does piston #1 magically fail? did you do a compression test?
5. What color is the smoke? If it's cold outside it'll be white. YOU HAVE HALF A CATALYTIC CONVERTER.
6. If there is gas in the oil, it sounds like a leaky injector. I'll find a Injector and send it to you, along with the Correct Speed sensor i pormised and a Throttle body that has the nipple coming out the top so you can hook-up the hoses "Correctly" as you say.
Let's not forget to mention...
1. I drove you home at 2 am one night and picked you up saturday.
2. You called me about EVERY GOD DAMN 15 MINS when i told you i was trying to finish your car.
3. I did everything for you for $1100. I say $1100 beacause you still owe $200, which i will probably never see, but if not then you'll get bad credit.
4. We went over the motor to ensure you'll get home. Also staying up two VERY late nights.

but, i rode in the car imediatly after the engine was swapped in skinny's crx, and there was no rod knock, and it pulled STRONG. and i dont think he drove the car very much between the time it was in the crx till he sold it to blacknoize...

i really hope you have had this motor checked out before coming in here bashing a guy that helped you out! 1 i dont know you guys arrangement but point blank YOU were in a bind and had no choice but to take what was given to you to get you HOME. Nobody knows how you treated the motor on the way to ohio or what else may be going on with that motor. I hate to say it but thats what happens when you rush into something like that. I say fix whats wrong with it when you get cash and keep the bashing down until you find out that its a internal problem. What kills me about this is even though you came in here bashing this guy HE is still willing to send you parts to fix it AND you OWE him money lol to me sounds like you got the better end of the deal and your still bitching for some odd reason. Man up fix your car and keep it moving!

I mean, if something is wrong w/ it, you dont imediatly openly bash the guy for something that is wrong (might be wrong). you give him the chance to make it better....i think anyone would do that. i mean, the kid spent 2 days swapping the shiit for you, you really think he's gonna go through all of that trouble and give you a shiit motor? without even everything paid in full?
c'mon, think about it. we all know skinny isn't a shady character, and throwing up this thread doesn't prove anything. dont jump to conclusions so quickly. get the motor looked @ by a mechanic to determine what the problem is, and i would bet that skinny would bend over backwords to help fix w/e is wrong.

This could be ugly for either party. It COULD be a junk motor, but a CR test is the MINIMUM thing u do when buying a used motor. I never do, b/c I buy a motor used and it's get refreshed (even to OEM spec) before the swap regardless.

The smoke is black. I get roughly 150miles per tank. "Overfueling" is just something one of my friends tends to say for a car that smokes black. It's getting to much fuel so... the term overfueling is used.
I call alot, because... well, I had to go and I was at least wanting to help or to be of help while up there. Plus u dont REPLY to ANYTHING I need info when I'm stranded trying to get back home and costing me every cent I made for school to break me.
As for the leaky injectors. All 4 of them leave the plugs soakin in gas. And it just sputters and pops and bangs.
The CEL, yes I know that. I was aware of that, thats not my complaint here.
I know u stayed up for hours and hours working on the motor and it was a pain and all as well as me being a pain, but I had to go and it was unexpected.
#1 piston accusation: yea that may be an accusation cuz we havent got around to the compression test yet. There is however oil and gas on the #3 piston, its not like its a big deal. But the car has lots of blow-by (as we say up here, IDK bout terminology on some parts) But theres lots of air puffin around inside the VC.
I kno the difference between white steam and smoke and cat smell. I've BEEN burnt that cat up, lol. And u drive that motor as hard as I do and as hard as I drove my Dseries. IDK how fast I was going the whole trip up here. I was warned by a couple of officers, but I had no clue.
IDK if I answered everything correctly, but it just runs bad... very bad. And with no money and no one smart enough (in America Car Captial of the world) I have no way of resolving these things. Cuz not one person understands how a "Honda" works and there are no parts available up here. No where. Unless I travel to Columbus or West Virginia.

If you said it runs better without the map, get a new one? that could be your big overfueling issue. Check the cel's, just because it was on because of a speed sensor doesnt meen it cant be on for something else as well. Stutters pops and bangs sound like an issue with your map again, or you have a dizzy on the way out.

Which I wasnt, but then I magically lost compression in 3 cylinders 2 days before my move (as most of u were aware of.) I cant continue to burn money that I dont have bro. $7 an hour aint gonna cut it. I could do it on my 2 job salary in the growing state of GA, but not here.

Sounds like you have a bad map sensor, possible ignition problem.
CHECK THE GOD DA.MN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODES FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.
REPLACE THE SPARK PLUGS.
EVERYTHING YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT DOESNT POINT TO A BLOWN ENGINE. IT POINTS TO A TUNE UP, SENSOR PROBLEM.

I've changed the spark plugs, there are not any codes flashing from the ECU. I do know how to diagnose things, but not this. This is new to me. Including the plug wires. (those ones that fit the original plugs seem to not fit the new plugs) IDK y

it doesnt matter, as long as the firewall one has a vacuum source and is plugged in you are fine

I'm hung over and i'll try to help you figure it out when i get back from eating..
The map sensor on the top of the TB doesn't do anything. It's an obd1 motor and you got a OBD-0, the map you need is hooked up on the fire wall.
The only thing i can think of is the vacumn hoses. I MIGHT have them in the wrong places. I'll try to find a diagram for the correct way here shortly.

Well... the investigations continuing. I dont wanna edit my post, because its obvious I was flaming. But... if the compression and leakdown test show the latter, then this will stay, otherwise I'ma be hated forever. I'll update when I can.

Theres a new timing belt installed and I highly doubt he woulda let me drive 500 miles out of time. IDK how to calibrate a TPS, never knew u could plus its fukin 10degrees outside, my hands cant do to much. I'll try for a compression test today if possible. The map is disconnected right now. I can actually drive it with it disconnected.

I doubt you have a compression problem.. That motor was stronger than my EG's 1998 motor i have. if you did, the car would sound like it was running on three cylinders and you wouldn't smell gas.

When I disconnected it from the firewall plug, the car runs at a regular idle. I checked around for vacuum leaks and... well the only thing I found was that if u disconnect the fuel pressure regulator, the car runs much better then i just got another one. All the other hoses seem fine.

READ WHAT EMMINO SAID, JUST CAUSE YOU KNEW WHAT THE CEL WAS 500 miles ago doesnt mean its not throwing it for something else. CHECK IT AGAIN.
Secondly, If you can drive the car with the map unplugged, its not hooked up right. Maybe you guys flipped the TPS and Map sensor around . HOOK UP A VACUUM LINE FROM THE INTAKE MANIFOLD TO THE MAP SENSOR DIRECTLY. IF THE MAP IS GOOD IT WILL RUN FINE.
SECONDLY, DOUBLE CHEKC THE TIMING, I DONT CARE IF SKINNY DID IT, YOU WERE RUSHING HIM, **** HAPPENS, CHECK IT AGAIN!!!!

I could care less bout the making myself look stupid part. I know damn well that I dont really thoroughly understand this stuff. U had to learn urself to Mr. Kidd so dont try and trash me anymore than needed. Obviously I'm in need of info once again.
I overdid it by bashing, but still, u as well as the others here know I dont know most of this. I'm able to do basic tuneups and all that, but nothing that involves all of this.
I just now unplugged the map sensor, just for the hell of it, by the way.

Everwhere I go and everyone I ask is baffled by the idea of an Acura motor in a Honda, plus with the ECU being from a 1992, the motor 1994 and the car a 1991. Just think about it.
They all be like: "well fuk, ur SOL" or "U shoulda got a mustang, fuk that 4banger" or they give me that... well, I cant help u, look in a Hanes manual.

I'm basically on my own and the only help I can get is from u guys, alllllll the way down there. And this brutally cold weather isnt making it any better. It just destoyed the radator at -8 degrees lastnight.

There is some1 in your area that is willing to help u man. I know this b/c i lived in Indy for the last year and Chicago, Indy and Cincy is the same bunch of guys, and there IS an import scene there... it's just small. Relax - make a post on there and get some talent touching the car okay.
Until you do BASIC maintenance that would be required no matter WHAT car u have, then don't post again... for real. Do a FULL tune-up, reset the ECU and see what you are left with homey.

I'm gonna post babyj, u cant deny me that. And Cincinatti isnt near me at all. Its 127miles away!! Unless someone is in Portsmouth that I dont know about, then that isnt local.
Plus the car HAS a basic tune up. I did it twice since I've been here. The only things that havent been changed are the dizzy. But... the spark plug wires/plugs/timing belt/thermostat/fluid/oil change have all been done.

The ATL metro area is large, but it isnt 100+ miles away to the nearest shop or person. I guess u need to see where I live, so... here comes a pic. I'll even provide a video if u need to see just what the town looks like at street level.
I'm isolated, so I HAVE to post to get help from u guys at least. (Seems like I always do need help.) And yes, I kno yall are annoyed at me, but hell, I cant get it from anywhere or anyone else around here.

i dunno if this is gonna help you out but.....try reconnecting your vacuum lines heres a simple diagram to follow by.....too see if your idle problems stops.....also double check your spark plugs too see if theres any oil in it....that would make your car sound or run like if its loosing compression on watever cylinder....<---it happen to meeh...well hope all goes well.
