OK, so earlier today I went over to my girlfriend's house. We watched a movie, ate dinner, and messed around from 5 - 11 or so. I go outside, get in my car, which was running perfectly fine on the way up there, push the clutch in, turn the key, and nothing.
The car doesn't even attempt to turn over, like I was trying to start it without pushing the clutch in. I couldn't see to check fuses, but the fuel pump was priming and all that, and I couldnt even get it to turn over to check spark. I have a feeling a fuse popped or something came loose, but does anyone have any clue what I should check. I don't know if it really matters, but my clutch started slipping a little under high boost/heavy acceleration the other day, but it was still very drivable. BtW it's a 2g, 95 to be exact. Thanks in advance, and any help is appreciated because this is pissing me off majorly.
Well, I think I'm the dumbest member here. After this happened, I hadn't really messed with my talon much, since I've got a miata as my DD anyway. Today, I'm bored and off work, so I decide to go screw with the car.Well one of my little plans was to disconnect the 'clutch to start' switch, which if you read above, one of the things I said in one of my OP's was that it's "like I'm not pressing the clutch in". Well, just for kicks, I try to start it, and she turns over and fires up immediately. Turns out it was the Neutral Safety Switch [or whatever it's called on an M/T vehicle] must have been bad, because that's the only thing I did between 3 days ago when it still wouldn't budge and today when it fired right up. I got a nice little cloud of black smoke in my garage though since it's been sitting for almost 3 months now. I also figured out my 'clutch slipping' problem while under the dash. I knew that the car had the ghost pedal issue when I bought it, and was told it was due to a MC/SC hose having a tiny hole. Well, I'm loosing the brake fluid from the clutch reservoir under the dash, so I just need to repair that and bleed the system and she'll be golden once again.
Cliffs notes:
suspected bad starter, stuck car in garage and forgot about it. Disconnected 'clutch to start' switch, fired right up after 3 months of not being able to.
