ok so I acrued around 350$ in benefits like 401k, and since it wasn't over 500$ legally the place I used to work at has to pay me that amount, but I went in and they said that they needed 75 dollars for uniforms that I didn't turn in, so I went home and found them and turned them in, now he says that they had already charged him for that and wont give the money back, so in order to get the check he wants me to give him the 75$. I told him since I already turned them in I wont pay for them. So now he wont give me the check, I just need to know what I can do in this matter since I know he can't legally hold my benefits check, im going back in tomorrow and just need some ammunition to throw at him. or who I can call. I am trying to find out laws about this issue but no luck so far. any links would be greatly appreciated or any input would help.

lol pay the 75 dollars take the loss and turn your stuff in next time. You could fight it, but your going to have to get the law involved which means your probably going to need an attourney and in the by the time anything happens it would of been easier for you just to eat the 75 dollars so you get 275 back. Unless you don't mind the wait & headache

if I got into it with them it wouldn't be over just this, there was also a 600$ bonus check that I was supposed to get and I really wasn't going to fight it until they pulled another little number like this on me

Call the department of labor, wage and hour division. It won't cost you a thing, you don't need a lawyer.

just pay the $75. sure you could go through the legal movements...but then you'd be on bad terms with big bossman.
