Stock Civic? If not, what's so special about it? :???: I have an '05 Pathfinder...I sold my 911 turbo last year, so no more "running" for me right now. I'll probably buy the new GTR on the second year run, so maybe we'll talk then.

I think you should run him at road atlanta. Though most overpowered FWD turbo cars on an autoX circuit will fail pretty bad anyways.

I sold my 911 turbo last year if you remember...I wouldn't have anything to run against him right now. But yeah, on Road Atlanta, I couldn't imagine a high powered FWD car doing very well... :lmfao:

Ruiner is right, i woudlnt be scared of a 2500lb FWD civic that might make 180whp on a good day.

Hell my 1800lb CRX that made 240whp NA wasnt that fast. Not fast enough to talk **** at least.

A stock 996TT with 415hp? No, low 12s stock. What I ran was better than most mags. The X50 version would run high 11s (it was 450hp) and the GT2 would do the same. Remember, I was running 19" wheels on a 315/25/19 tire. Not a great tire for drag racing. Either way, I still cut a 1.79 60ft.

A 2003 996 911 could run high 11's. http://porsche.jbcarpages.com/911/2003/index4.php
But im sure your 19 inch rims had something to do with you running a slower time than what a stock rim'd 911 should run. Nice 60ft btw...

The link is wrong. Most mags and real life got 12.2-12.4s in the 1/4 @ 114-117mph depending on conditions.

Now the X50 package will get you there. That was an "add on" factory option that bumped the hp from 415 to 450, stock.

I think that one mag back in 2000 ran an 11.9, but that was never repeated. There are always factory flukes. Either way, real world testing was 12.2.-12.4.

The link is wrong. Most mags and real life got 12.3-12.5s in the 1/4 @ 114-117mph depending on conditions.

Then again, they might have been talking about the X50 package. That was an "add on" factory option that bumped the hp from 415 to 450, stock.Maybe... all I was trying to say is that your low 12 sec pass isn't nothing to brag about! Sorry, but I have to side with Ruiner on this one. Wayyyyy too many people on IA and the internet at large THINK that low #'s in the 1/4 are just a walk in the park, yet the majority of the time THEY have never ran nor have SEEN anyone run mag times. Most people fail to realize that most mag times are CORRECTED times or wishful thinking times. I've ran actual real-life VIPERS myself and not one single one was in the "11's". Matter of fact, all of them ran in the 12's and the "stock" one ran in the 13's. THAT is real life.

Most people like to live in la-la land yet don't even GO to the races to see REAL cars in REAL LIFE situations. They'd rather google it and THINK they know how fast something is.

If someone is not impressed with a low 12 sec STREET DRIVEN, LUXURY, BAD ASS LOOKING, Porsche......then they don't know anything about cars.

Maniac1
01-17-2008, 01:30 PM
Im sure you're talking about me. And you're right and wrong on somethings... Low 1/4 times really are a walk in the park. Depending on your setup and driver skills. I've made an almost completely stock STI run 13.0 when three other drivers could barly hit 13.2's. Add acouple more mods and you have a LOW 12 sec sedan.

I have seen several stock vipers and vettes run at the track. Im not just some internet google kid with knowledge when it comes to 1/4 times. I go to track events. I've seen them run on street, I know they are quick and that weather conditions play a very important role when it comes to 1/4 times and trap speeds. Me not being impressed by a low 12 sec pass by a porsche doesn't automatically mean I don't know anything about cars. That was a pretty stupid comment...

Who was talking about luxury anyways?

But anyways, if you weren't talking about me... Than I take some of it back. But im sure you were seeing as I was the only one who said I wasn't impressed.
ps; Lets not get out of hand with this one though... simple and right to the point would be great!
